"Being good at things is pretty great."

"It is."

"Do you have any advice for getting to know the other crew members better? I don't want to get in the way, but they seem unlikely to spontaneously stop by to look at the wiring."

"Well, I dunno. I got to know them by fixing everything in sight and then hitting on Sargon. Worked out okay for me, but you can't exactly do the same thing."

"True. I'm no engineer, and apparently everything in sight has already been fixed."

"Yep. You could hang out in the galley and say hi when people show up? If you're remotely as good at cooking as you are at tea, you could do that while teaching me to cook so you have a completely legitimate excuse to be there?"

"I can teach you to cook," she agrees.

"Shiny! I'm terrible at it, but you managed to get me halfway decent at tea, so there's hope!"

"Well, if tea is engineering, cooking is chemistry."

"I'm not awful at chemistry," she says hopefully.

"Maybe you just need things explained the right way."

"Maybe!"

"Let's go find out."

"Let's!"

To the kitchen!

Bea isn't quite as good at food as tea, but she's still good, and very willing to slow down and explain things.

Tina continues to be a pretty good student.

Sargon is the first other crew member to stop by.

"Huh," he says.

"I'm teaching Tina to cook."

"That you are!"

"It's fun!"

"It looks it!"

He takes a seat somewhere out of their way.

"Today I learned that tea is engineering."

"That sounds like the sort of thing you'd learn hanging around with Tina."

"I also learned that tea is engineering! And it makes so much more sense that way!"
