Cave: is deep and dark and long and often somewhat cramped, and gradually grows warmer as the stream grows wider and faster, and it's descending a lot more steeply than the one they took up rose -

Until it spills out into what seems to be a crack in the ceiling of a massive cavern, the stream rushing past them and falling in a waterfall into a lake far below.

Whoooooaaaa. It's like an entire underground palace.
