Flywheel has already showered and changed into her guiding clothes by the time Traceless gets back to the silo.
She's got a Korean news program running on the TV. (She doesn't want to see any coverage of Arrakis, and this is a good way to not.)
Cara will stare at the menu for a while, as if lost in thought, and then get herself some kimchi and some bibimbap.
"Haven't had Korean food in a while," she says offhandedly, when she finishes.
"...Tia had a pretty, uh, unadventurous palette? But. Actually there was nothing stopping me from ordering from different places than her. I guess I felt like it'd be awkward and wasteful? But I could have easily afforded it, I do a lot of dungeons. So." She shrugs and looks away, her brain screaming at her.
"...yeah, even espers who don't dungeoneer usually don't have to sweat it if they order a lot of delivery."
"Yeah." (...she was backlashed some of the times when they ordered food, and the longer she went without mentioning it, the more awkward it would have been to bring up, and, and, and...)
Shrug. "Just wasn't thinking about it very well, I guess."
"Huh. ...do you wanna put together a list of the next, I don't know, ten things you might want to get around to eating sometime soon, for if I'm placing orders or sending them through Tess when you're fresh out of a dungeon?"
That's a good idea that she didn't think of because she's an idiot
"...yes, definitely, but probably not right now?"
"I'll put it on a todo list, I suppose." And she pulls out her phone and does so, along with finalizing her plans for tomorrow and writing down the list of things Tia said that might still be affecting her.
(She's both terrified of doing that and wants to get it done. Feels like a sword hanging over her head.)
...well? Are you going to do something about it? Did you learn anything from all this, anything at all?
"...would it be okay if we got me to write down that list tonight?"
"Oh, the stuff that I still might be doing without really thinking about it while backlashed."
"...not sure? Probably not a ton, though. We can try at a 3 or so on my scale and see if that works?"
"How much does that let you do, should we try finding a quick dungeon we're overkill for or just fly around to test the power combo right before bed?"
"We could do a quick dungeon or test powers? I had just been planning on very briefly locating every pedestrian within a hundred meters, though. It's very easy for me to build specific amounts of backlash." She sounds a bit guilty for not wanting to do anything useful with the power expenditure.
"You can also do that, if you don't like flying as much as I do. It does sort of look like you have a hard time enjoying things once you've got a bit though that might be - superficial, maybe you are capable of having a great time."
"...I like using my power a lot, really, just - it's been a long day."
Hey maybe you should actually engage with - "I can enjoy myself while backlashed, but I have a harder time - accessing my preferences for coming across the way I want to come across, past a certain point." And then past that point, she comes across as vaguely miserable because -
Oooooh, she is really hungry, actually. (She can eat at a reasonable pace like a civilized person about it, though.)
Kimchi pancake! And lots of water. He has white person spice tolerance and the actual white person in the room doesn't, that's mildly funny. "Okay, if you wanna just do sensing and not flying I guess I do not have to plan around myself spending any more time backlashed today unless my phone starts yelling me about rubber ducks performing Incan sacrifices."
"I'm highly specialized. They wouldn't call me on an emergency basis for Mayan ducks, let alone Aztecs."
