Pssht, pssht.  Tim will continue marking his path in spray-paint.  "Looks like a weird stage, some kind of auditorium or something.  The monsters are some kind of weird puppets, they've got really detailed eyeballs but no face or anything.  Very creepy.  The monsters don't attack, they just...stare at you."

What's behind Utility Door #1?

It's locked! Pushing the crash-bar does nothing.

Briefly.  Chisel, meet door.  Door, meet chisel.  Chisel, meet hand slapping into you like a strike from a jackhammer.

The door screams — well, crunches — in protest, but opens. The first thing he sees on the other side is the wall of a carpeted corridor exactly like the ones leading from the entrance hall, extending off to the right. He’ll have to step through or push the door open wider to see what’s on the left, currently behind the door.

Okay.  That's pretty loud.  Not unexpected, but augh, esper healing.  I'll need an excuse to leave the regen running later, I want to keep my esper hearing.  Left thumb on his mic.  "This is a big one.  I might not be the best esper to clear it."  Tim will wait a few seconds.  I could peek around the door, but what if there's a monster?  I could use the 'scope, but that takes two hands.  I suppose I can probably beat a monster to death, but that costs backlash, probably...

Once his hearing adapts and in a moment he’s not making the door squeak any more, he can again hear more distant sounds like those in the previous corridor. The one that might be sobbing might be louder.

There it is.  "I think I hear a vic.  Following."  Tim will choose to give himself a glorious second of heavy durability, clear the door, and drop his power if there's nothing there.

To the left is more corridor, except that it ends in a blank wall about ten feet along.

When the door swings shut, the near side of it proves to be a black wall panel exactly like the rest of the corridor, even including the line of floor-illuminating lights. It doesn’t quite fit perfectly straight into its spot, probably due to the forced entry. There is no handle.

The sobbing continues.

Of course.  Any of these stupid panels could be a door.  Why not.  Fine.

Tim double-checks to make sure he's not somehow being snuck up on.  If he's not, he closes his eyes, takes a breath, holds it, and listens.

Unpleasant sounds are definitely coming down the corridor on the right, despite all its efforts to be discreet about them! When his eyes are open, it looks like there might be another visible intersection a ways down the corridor.

Alright.  Let's do it.  Tim will pursue the sound of sobbing.  Whiisttt, whissst, whiissstt goes the spraypaint.

This intersection is just like the first one he encountered! Except that on the right, the poster frame beside the double doors is not empty; this one contains a picture that, if you squint, might represent a human figure sitting on the floor hunched over. The caption is “◴◷◕◴◔◷◔◷◴◕◵”.

The sobbing is definitely coming through the door.

Tim makes sure to get a clear photo and relay the weird movie poster's description back to base.  Then he attempts to silently enter the auditorium. The noise was only enhanced on-stage, maybe I can get in without waking up the creepy puppets.

The door opens with only a slight click of the latch. He can intrude into stage right of — the lowest floor of a semicircular lecture hall, with tiers of seated mannequins all looking down on a floor area much smaller than the stage Tim previously visited. The mannequins’ gazes shift partially to him, weighing whether or not he is part of the show.

In the center is a sobbing woman sitting on the floor, facing the audience. Two mannequins stand guard(?) behind her and to each side.

What the fuck am I looking at.  "Ma'am?  I'm Aumento, I'm a dungeon esper.  I can get you out in a minute.  If you can safely talk, can you tell me what happened?  If you can't talk, can you signal that somehow?"  I should think of a pre-arranged signal for this, surely someone wrote an SOP about this somewhere.

The sobbing woman startles and looks up at him. “The—they won’t—”

Let's not charge in.  They don't look friendly at all.  "They won't what, ma'am?  It's okay.  You'll be out of here soon, I promise."

they won’t—st—they won’t let me stop.

The guard mannequins shift position.

Okay.  I really don't want to charge in.  If I empower her, she could do anything.  I need to make sure she's going to run to me.  I could shoot them, but what if the others go berserk or she panics?  Can't risk it.  Augh.  "Okay.  It's fine.  I understand.  I'm going to try and walk up to you.  When that happens, I need you to just stay calm, okay?  Don't move.  If you have to run, run TOWARDS me.  I can protect you.  Do you understand?"

She nods. Dubiously, or maybe just shakily. She definitely doesn’t look ready to leap up and run anywhere.

Why taking three steps so intimidating.  You're being stupid, Tim.  Stow the pistol, your backdrop is the poor victim.  Stance up.  Be ready. Tim takes a breath, lets it out slowly, and strides forward.  Before, he tried to be quiet.  Here and now?  Tim clomps.  Click-clop.  Click-clop.  Click-clop.

Nobody present is yet objecting to this course of action. The guard mannequins maybe shift a little more? But they are focused on her, not him.

Tim draws up to the crowd.  Are any of them responding to him?  Is it literally just the victim they care about?

Oh, they’re watching the whole show.

Cool.  Okay.  Do weird inanimate puppets have organs?  Who knows, honestly.  "Okay, ma'am.  When I give the word, you're going to get behind me.  I'm going to make you stronger, and tougher.  What I can't do is help you if you get separated.  D'you think you can do that for me?"
