"That should be safer for you, for now," she nods, "I'm glad. That gives you time to get training, if you want it, and train your power, too. Awakening immediately before a Confluence is... Rough."

"...Yeah. I'd find it a lot easier to just not though if, like, the dee arr tee folks were more, um. That thought made a lot more sense in my head. Have you ever heard someone say 'ACAB', ayy, cee, ayy, bee?"

"Em... Yes? 'All cops are bastards', yes? Does that apply to the DRT? They don't exactly police anyone, or not very much."

"It doesn't apply to DRT, as far as I can tell! Which is why I'm not as hesitant as I thought I'd be to go fight dungeons."

"Oh! That's good. Yes, DRT are only police in and around dungeons, really. If they're police at all.

"But they are very competant, most of them. If you do only some dungeons you are likely to survive, they and all of us will have you as backup beyond the Confluence."

"I kind of get the kind of esper who goes... 'I'll stop doing dungeons when I'm dead'. I think that was a quote. Like, that kind of rage, opposition. It's really tempting, right? To just throw yourself into something and let the strong emotions carry you. But it's way too easy to make mistakes that way. Move too fast, and break things, or get people killed with haste. So I probably should not do that. Even though I want to shatter cores and take names."

"Yes."

"I was one of those, for some time."

Hug!!

...She finally notices the bowl of snacks in convenient reach and grabs a few of the little pretzles.

"A toast I suppose, to not making obvious mistakes, and looking before leaping..."

Nom.

Sara gets some pretzels of her own and taps Wendy's with them, "A toast," she agrees, and noms.

"We're not special. I mean... Each esper is unique but we are not god-queens who can do no wrong, or anything. Am I being weird?"

"I don't think so? That is true. I think some espers think they are all-powerful, it is good to have some realism. Espers die all the time, though less than we used to."

Squishhug.

"...I think talking about this is making me feel bad. Maybe I should go do another round of practice? I'm close to zero."

"I'm sorry. Let's reset," she nods, "When you come back we can talk about something nicer."

"I'm the one who brought it up! But yes. When I'm back.

She does seem to be in a better mood when back. Or at least, a different bad mood.

"I'm getting needled for not being precise enough. They say '250 grams' and I can't reliably get within ten of that without doing it continually and adjusting... But I asked for trainers for a reason and they think it's important, so."

"Could you do it more slowly? I don't know what your limitations are, but I find if I mold stone more slowly it becomes easier to be precise."

Sara has drinks now, on a new tray opposite her crafting one. They and the bowl of pretzels (more depleted, now) are available to plunder while they chat and snuggle.

Yay, snuggles. And pretzels!! They crunch just so.

"...The way I relate to my power is very - instant?" She snaps her fingers. "Just so. Blink and you miss it. I can do sustained pressure but it's more backlashy. So fast, precise shoves are, like, I feel like I could get really really good at it."

"You just need more practice? To make it click."

Pretzels and juice and soda! Sara has a sparkling lemonade, herself, but Wendy could probably do with some Esperade?

"Hopefully! They do say practice makes perfect."

What even is this weird drink that's not juice or soda? Oh well, she'll drink it. And snuggle. "And precisely aiming is gonna be a whole different thing. I can source the push from my foot or my head and kinda send things in directions, but that's hard to be precise with. Just holding a little metal ball up to my eye and pushing it makes it hit below the target, because I have to look around it so my eye isn't actually completely lined up right..."
