[You're gonna have a bit of a wait,] she reports after a few minutes. [Do you need it with you or will it suffice to have it shipped in a box to arrive here in a couple days?]

[Waiting a couple days is perfectly fine. I would loathe losing it, as it's been with me through a lot, but at the end of the day it's just a knife. The headband I would much prefer to have with me, if possible.]

[It makes me better at handling my sorcery. I get more spells, and they hit harder.]

[And it makes it easier to talk to people, which... maybe not that important if I can't talk to people who are not you.]

[And you should not be casting spells on the plane, especially not ones where hitting harder is a consideration.]

[Yes, but what about when I get off the plane? What if I need to defend myself?]

[Having the attitude that you may need to do that will get you in more trouble than being unable to, most particularly on an airplane but also in most other civilized parts of the world. I think this may be most especially true since you are unfamiliar with the ways in which our extremely rare dangers present themselves.]

[I will trust you on this one. But please, do make sure the headband is safely delivered, I don't have the means nor the knowledge to build a new one.]

[I am going to do the best I can but I'm limited by having to operate remotely and you're going to have some waiting to do while I set that up.]

[I believe you're doing the best you can, it's just that not having it will suck for me. I can cope, definitely not the worst thing that happened in my life.]

[Do I need to do anything else here or should I move along with all the other people I see walking by?]

[I cannot see where you are right now, did they let you through the checkpoint?]

[Yupp, just after it. They let me through after I gave them knife and headband.]

[Continue on according to the original plan, then, yeah, and I'll work on getting your stuff shipped.]

He follows the flow of people until it starts diverging, then finds someone who is clearly trying to sell something (some kind of bottle?) and shows them the sign that he marked for this part of the trip. It says "Hello, I'm very foreign, could you point me towards the gate for WN3464?" — not that he can read it.
