It's a quiet day in New Los Angeles.
Kumi sits on a plush cushion, tatami mats crinkling beneath her as she shifts her body weight. She draws her wooden brush through Ishaza's hair, careful of her horns.
Across the low table, Tasha is softly petting Aya, fingers tangled in her golden fur.
Kumi sighs, a soft sweet sound.
"So," she asks. "What do you all think of our latest rose?"
"Live your life. Love your wife. Enjoy the luxury of the Bowers. A quarter of the city is hearts just like you, so don't feel lonely. And if some day you want to spread your wings, we'll be sure to welcome you as well."
Ishaza finishes her shawarma wrap in another few bites, and nods to her hostesses.
"I think I'm off now. It was nice to talk and get to know you two a little."
"I will."
She gets up, stoops to pick up her orange cola from the low table, and walks out the door with a smile tossed over her shoulder.
