Going on hikes is a form of getting out of the house which doesn't require a car, so Xander does it most weekends. Mostly he walks a particular set of trails which he's timed out to last a certain number of podcast episodes, but he's nearing the end of the season and it's narratively very tense and he can tell he'll want to keep going for longer than usual. So he takes a new turn.
...He types: Can you write just "I"? As in, "I am writing," but only the part that means yourself? Really big; use up the whole page. Camera at the ready.
He watches the footage back. Is she doing anything other than drawing A Straight Line???
Well it's a pretty big bold I and the pen is not that thick and maybe there's serifs or something whatever it's complicated she definitely wrote the word I okay??
He's vibrating, a little. What movement did you make with your hand in order to produce the word?
I mean, as a human who speaks English, it would be trivially easy for me to answer, "I drew a straight vertical line," and the fact that you don't immediately have that answer shows that there's something much weirder and more magical going on. It's also possible that your answer might give me enough insight into how the magic here works that we could teach you to type, which I continue to think would be really useful for you.
I can draw a straight vertical line if you want... are you just trying to see if I've noticed that a couple of the keys have words on them, because I did notice that, I just can't compose a meaningful sentence with them alone.
