"You can watch, just stand well back."

Cam sends Alassëo out the door for a box, which has a little play of light leaking out its edges; Cam installs this object in a suddenly-appearing edifice of technology in the backyard. Alassëo stands ready to explain things to resurrected Elves.

Cam appears his conveyor belt of beds for Elves to land in, and consults his list, and starts pulling chips out of the machine to make bodies around, with the practiced smooth speed of a man who's spent months doing nothing else at all.

Morgethai stands about five feet closer to the box than Cam would prefer and staaaaaaaaaaares at it. And then at him. And then at the box again. She's taking notes (they're diagrams) (in three colors) (with one pen and inkwell).

Cam doesn't say anything to her about how close she is but Alassëo finds a moment to shoo her back; Quendi are good at multitasking.

Fine. Staaaaaare.

(Samora and Petrai are sitting at Bar reading books that were lost in the fall of Azlant.)

After a while, Petrai needs to sleep, which means either disrupting the assembly line to let him out or disrupting the assembly line to get some money for a room for him, or--since she's likely to be here for a while, could Samora sign up for security and/or infirmary work? What are the obligations that come with that?

She can! Though she is not guaranteed to get a shift right away. It does qualify her for a room on the ground floor though, either way, and she could let her friend sleep there.

Fantastic. He is also going to need to eat, though, so she might need to bother Cam after all--oh, and there was the whole summoning situation. She goes out to the yard and stands somewhere visible making a "hello I have a non-urgent interrupt" face.

"Do you need something?"

"Two things--one, I either need to open the door to Golarion for a minute so Petrai can leave, or some money to pay Bar for food for him. Two, we were talking about finding out what happens when people from my world, either living or dead, summon a daeva, and whenever it's a good time for that we should finish discussing it, though getting an outsider to summon involves time passing on Golarion so maybe it needs to wait."

Alassëo nods and interrupts Cam extremely gracefully.

Cam finishes with his current chip and then the trickle of newly raised Quendi flows away out of the yard and they're alone.

"You can run up a tab, with Bar," he mentions, but he walks in to drop a clinking sack on her and point a thumb in Samora's direction. "That's on your tab now, should probably keep. Though there's the door too if you want it."

"Awesome, thanks! So, for experimenting with summoning, the ideal case would be either someone who doesn't like their most likely afterlife, or someone who's already dead and will die forever if they die again. But I don't know where I'd find someone trustworthy in the former category and the latter would require getting Golarion to dawn tomorrow so I can prepare the spell."

"You won't get the information on whether this works until they die. That's why we don't know about Arda humans and Dwarves yet."

"Yes, but I don't think that's a reason not to do it. I can call a kind of archon that often takes combat postings in Heaven and maybe they'll decide swap around to take a riskier job that would have gone to a different one, but that's about it if it might not work. Though if the summoning part works, even that would be great, just for the trade opportunities between daeva and heaven. The risk would be if knowledge on how to summon leaks to Hell or the Abyss, and that might be a reason not to do it. What kind of protections do daeva have against being enchanted or coerced?"

"Against coercion, just being indestructible. Enchantment, nil. That's not a thing where we're from."

"Then it's really important that Hell doesn't find out how to get any. . . Do you want my hat? It provides some protection from mind-affecting magic. It's far from perfect but it can't hurt, and I have some innate resistance already."

"Now that you mention it I would love your magic anti-enchantment hat."

"Here you go! It only works while it's on your head and you can't wear two magic hats at the same time, they'll cancel each other out and neither will do anything."

"...if you say so. I don't exactly have a lot of magic hats." He accepts it. What does it look like?

Soft red wool with a bunch of metallic embroidery. If he puts it on it resizes a little to fit him. "If magic items are the only thing you can't make it's probably the main thing anyone can plausibly pay you in."

"What else should be on my wishlist?"
