"I don't have any Gaelic, I think I'll take my chances with Logic. My other after-lunch class won't do you any good unless you speak Russian."

"I have Gaelic," pipes up the colorfully dressed girl in a daydreamy voice. "If you ever want tutoring, you can come find me."

Riley turns to see who is offering to tutor him. He smiles gratefully.

"That would be really nice of you. I'll remember that, ah...I don't think I caught your name?"

"Luna Lovegood," she says, and smiles back at him. "I don't think it's really nice of me, since if I do it, it will be because you're helping me with something too, I expect. It would be really nice of me to tutor you for free, but Daddy said I shouldn't do things for people for free, because if I do that people probably won't help me with the things I need to graduate," she expounds, as if this might be novel to anyone in the room.

Indeed it is not! Pretending that people are being nice and not self-interested seems like the best way not to devolve into cackling, scrabbling animals, but Riley can't actually say that. Everyone already knows it.

"Either way, I'll appreciate it."

What is Luna-do-spells-miss-us-when-we-die's deal. How did she even get - oh, she's British, that's a British accent, they have seats coming out of their ears. In any case she seems friendly enough to ask to see her schedule, which is part of her deal that actually matters today. "What do you have Tuesday-Thursday after lunch? I'm trying to bump Logic."

"I have the same Gaelic literature course as him" (she inclines her head at Riley) "and then I have a Mandarin course called 'Angels and Aliens: Motifs of the Strange.'"

"My Mandarin isn't up for taking classes yet. You can take a look at mine if you want to bump anything, I've got a good lab."

"Ooh, thanks." She switches to Daria's Tuesday morning lab.

Having put in her foot in her mouth enough, Alyona sits quietly and listens as the students around her negotiate classes. Eventually, her finalized schedule appears:

Monday: Language Lab, Anglo-Saxon Poetry, Advanced Geometry, Russian Literature Before Pushkin, Poetry & Prosody
Tuesday: Language Lab, German History through the lens of Grimm, Into to Lab, Formal Logic for Spellcraft, Freshman Composition
Wednesday: Freshman Maleficaria Studies, Anglo-Saxon Poetry, Advanced Geometry, Russian Literature Before Pushkin, Poetry & Prosody
Thursday: Language Lab, German History through the lens of Grimm, Into to Shop, Formal Logic for Spellcraft, Freshman Composition
Friday: Freshman Maleficaria Studies, Anglo-Saxon Poetry, Advanced Geometry, Russian Literature Before Pushkin, Poetry & Prosody

"Ugh, great, I guess the Scholomance really wants me to brush up on German. Is anyone else in German History through the lens of Grimm in F-block?"

"No, sorry. Just EF-blocks on mine."

"Welp. Here's hoping someone else is in it."
