And then there is food! Nora disappears the scroll to tuck in.

Yum, curry. ...is this a date. She should maybe have ascertained this. It's probably not though.

This instance of Nora is not one of the ones that read minds. That's probably for the best, given present company, but it does mean Nora does not think to clarify whilst enjoying her tom yum.

Bella has room for ice cream after this.

Ooo, ice cream sounds good! Nora can locate an ice cream place that's relatively close by.

Bella wants coconut.

Coconut can be had! Nora picks a blueberry/strawberry mix with sprinkles and a little gummy bear.

"I don't understand gummy stuff in ice cream, like, texturally."

"Hmm? Oh, it's not a texture thing exactly...it's just, like, a game to save the gummy for last, you have to work around it with the spoon and sometimes I like to make a little tower with the gummy on top by spooning away all the ice cream on the outside and see how long it lasts before it collapses and now that I say it out loud it sounds extremely silly."

"No, I get it, sometimes food is more interesting when it comes with subtasks, that makes sense now."

"Subtasks! Yes!" Nora nods sagely. "It's like normal food but with flowcharts." Om nom melty-tower-topple.

Bella herself does not assign herself ice cream subtasks and will probably be done first.

Nora finishes hers shortly thereafter, and they can head back to the lab!

It probably does not get much more interesting by Bella's standards even when they start assembling a small rocket thruster. Nora seems to be having fun, though.

If they were going to watch the rocket shoot into the sky afterwards that might be cool! If it just goes in a box to be shipped somewhere and never seen again not so much.

It's more the second thing, alas. There will be a whole rocket eventually but Bella will not get to see it launch without more travel.

Oh well.

As things wrap up for the day, Nora asks Monica for tips on Being a Tourist in Boulder. Monica's recommendations predictably skew towards the outdoorsy (the mountains, the nearby reservoir, an aerial park in Denver for magical girls) but there's also a planetarium and a few museums.

Isabella will check out museums. It's a pity that altitude acclimation is not visible and she can't just starscape it on but she would not have much fun at an aerial park right now.

Nora's interested in the reservoir for today, and heads that way when work's done.

The rest of the two-week internship proceeds much the same, with plenty of downtime opportunities to chat with colleagues and explore town.

Does Isabella suggest a change to her schedule, to include aerial maneuverability coaching?

She shoots an email to whoever's managing her internship, yeah.

They can in fact do some shuffling! Isabella's next two weeks are unchanged, still a biomedical internship, but the one after that will involve some basic aerial combat training. They'll also get her an expert style consultant, and find out just how high her stopping power can be coaxed with professional support.

Yaaaaay free style upgrade. Sorry not sorry, Xander. Yes she'll record the session if they let her, Xander.

Not every stylist at this level wants recordings of their techniques floating around, but as it happens this one doesn't even bat an eye at the request. Record away.

...Kaijus are pretty big. There's some testing to do. Can she stop something yea big once newly glamorized?
