"Hi. I'm Steven, not Stevie, no matter what Kenta says, okay?"

"Is there a third option?"

"Please, no. Steven."

"Thanks. Hey, Kenta. Keep doing Elvis. I actually like Elvis."

For a young girl, Tabby can do a rather good impression.

Kenta grins and 'conducts' her with an imaginary baton. A very energetic pair of voices.

Music pleases Zeke!

Steven is practiced at mostly ignoring the music and doing some kind of game involving some kind of unusual cards in the corner.

Cards are cool, too. "What is that?"

"They're my Tales of Elements cards. It's a trading card game. Want to learn how to play?"

This is a monster card and this is an energy and this is a magic spell and Steven is not particularly good at being understandable when he's this eager.

He smiles and nods, though.

He sets up a fake game where he fights himself. It's much more comprehensible, this way. At least the mechanics if not the strategy.

"Sure! You can have my light deck. I'm going to use water."

He might be kind of confused by some of the card abilities. What's 'stall'? 'Intercept'?

But what he should do on his first turn seems obvious enough.

He does okay for a beginner. Years of card games with Tabby helps.

He loses, but it's closer than Steven expected. "Pretty clever for a new guy and not knowing the deck. On turn three you saw me holding a lot of cards... You maybe should have guessed I was saving up to cancel on you. Hm... What else..."

"I'm just glad someone to talk about Tales of Elements with showed up. Don't you dare hurt my cards though."

"Why would I? Are they evil cards?"

"Some people are not nearly as careful as they ought to be, is all."
