People! 

Jisa grins back and runs over. "Why's your hair like that?" 

"Our hair grows this way because we are not humans!"

"She's so cute!"

"Looks about one - I mean, four, I guess -"

Jisa knows that she's very cute and she likes it when people say it. She beams at them. 

...They're saying some things in Valdemaran, but also sometimes they're just making silly noises, and then something else, she can't tell what, is saying Valdemaran words? That's so weird! 

"You talk funny!" she says. "Sometimes you talk with your mouth and sometimes you talk from - that? Why?" 

"We're new at Valdemaran and these things help us with it!"

"Whoa! Do they help you with other things too? Can you do MAGIC with them?" 

"We can't do magic at all!" It's mostly the one with green hair talking. "But these help us do lots of things. We call them 'pocket everythings' because they can do so much stuff."

"Can I pick you up?" asks the blue haired one.

"If you want to! - Have you met my mama. She's very good." 

Scoop! "Maybe! What's your mama's name?"

Jisa thinks for a moment. 

"....Mama?" Pause. "- Healer. Healer...Shavri?" 

"Oh! Yes, we've met her, she went up to our sky ship to see the infirmary there!"

"- She did? She didn't tell me! She never tells me anything!" 

"Oh no! Do you want us to call her on the ship? We can do that from here right now!"

"...Ummm. Not right now." 

(Jisa is aware that Mama will probably - for some mysterious reason - be UPSET with her for talking to the interesting people with the multicoloured hair...) 

"- Can you make your hair a different colour if you want? I mean, what if you just don't like the colour it is...?" 

"Oh, I do actually dye my hair! It comes in darker than this," says the green. "But I like it this shade. You can see a little at the root."

"Oooh!"

Jisa leans in close to look. 

"....Can you dye it any colour?" 

"That would be confusing, like wearing a uniform for someone else's job!"

"- That doesn't seem fair. ...I wish I had RED hair. Like Healer Andy - he works with my mama and he's very nice and good and his hair is very pretty and mine is just brown and boring -" 

"I think your hair is lovely!"

"I haven't seen any humans with red hair yet - black and brown and orange and yellow -"

"Huh. I guess Andy's hair is kind of more orange? People call it red but maybe that's silly. There are also people with white hair! And sometimes half white and half other colours! Have you seen that yet?" 

"I think so! White and greyish. Amentans have more colors but not a single one of us has brown or black hair, so on our planet you'd be very special."

Jisa lights up.

"Really? ....But also half the other people in Haven would be special." 

"That's true, but there aren't very many people in Haven compared to at home! You could fit everybody who lives in Haven in one really big Amentan building."

“Whoa!” Jisa’s eyes go huge. “It’d have to be soooooo big! How can you make a building that big?”

"It uses a lot of steel, and concrete!"

“Ooh. I wanna see it! Could you draw me a picture of it?”
