It's been a tumultuous decade, with the discovery of self-consistent FTL and the subsequent creation of the Faster Than Light Network. While Earth remains stubbornly the only inhabited planet (so far), advances in man-machine interfacing have ushered in a whole new breed of VR game, mesh-hosted and playable in small or large groups.
This one's a survival game, and an eroge too. Adrift in Pleasure, it's called.
Eva's eager to get to playing with her long-distance girlfriends, so she quickly installs the mesh client, reclines in her pod, slips on her neural crown, and drops like a stone into the game. She's always been good at falling into trance, and this isn't so different.
She can't wait to see the Pirates in VR again.
