"No, I mean, hmm...  D'you know about, like, special forces training programs?  'Break out of these curses before you can graduate' seems like something they would do if they did have magic.  And while I have little to really base this impression on, you strike me as very badass.  I want to be clear, that's a compliment, in case you don't know the slang."

"Th-thanks -" She's heard the word, but never thought of it applied to herself.

"And... yeah, I guess some people would do it?  Maybe some of the Patrolmen would want it... and it might be fun to set it up for other people too?"  She starts to faintly smile.

"Might be!"

She swings her legs on the table.  Outside, the clouds start churning back and forth.

"So... if you're staying at college here, I'll try to put you in touch with a few more mages?  And I'll sound out the local Fay - it's good for you to at least know about them if you're doing magic around here.  I might be staying - depends on all these new projects - but I'll be sure to let you know if I'm not.  Sounds good?"

"That does sound pretty good."

"...Which people, do you think?"

Shrug.

"I don't know; my lab's at Niagara and I've barely been down here before this semester...  Maybe the Fay would know?... or if not I can find some people who would."

"I guess that makes sense."

Aeslin kicks back and lies down in midair.

"... In fact, I think I'll go scout around other people's dreams.  I can sometimes tell mages' dreams apart from non-mages before I even walk into them; if I do find any probably-mages tonight, I can look them up... Hmm, it might be fun to just walk into their dreams?  Though, no, it'd be awkward if I strike on a false positive and whoever-it-is isn't a mage..."

"...I mean, they probably won't believe unless they already did.  I've had stranger things happen.  But that would be safer."

"I mean, the last time I did that the guy was convinced he was dreaming of me because he was in love with me -"

"...Ewwwww."

"Yeah.  If I hadn't had better things to do, I might've put a few other things in his dreams the next night just to teach him..."

"... but anyway.  Anything else?  Or should it be good, er, good-night, and see you awake in the morning?"

"I can't immediately think of anything?  So, um, see you on the other side, then."

Aeslin waves and triggers the pre-laid spell to cast her out of Mira's dream and back into the mists of the dreamrealms.

The image of her wand is once again in her hand, and she slowly turns it around through the mist, prowling.  Who else is here tonight?  What do they look like?  Do they have that faint aura around their dreams that doesn't actually symbolize magic but is often associated with it?

... Now that Aeslin's thinking about muggle-sprung mages who might not know they're mages, she's suddenly wondering whether the few muggles she's seen with that aura are mages after all.

Maybe not?  But if she sees someone else... well, she'll need to develop some test that doesn't betray any secrets.  She can't very well go up to random muggles and ask them to wave a wand... she was ready to explain herself with Mira, but she isn't with some other random muggle.

Aeslin wakes up early for her.  She went to bed at a not-totally-unreasonable hour, after all.

She waves her wand over herself in the cleaning-spell (much neater than showers, even if less comfortable), weighs what she knows of politeness norms and comes up unsure, and calls out a not-too-loud "Good morning!" to Mira.

Gwuhb?

Oh.

...Oh.

...Well, she does feel surprisingly well-rested, considering.

"Huh, I guess it is, even.  G'morning, Aeslin."
