Yanor sends his supernatural glare at the hydra. Its body slams into the ground with a loud crash as it falls asleep.

Oh good it's down. Hopefully it will be finished before it gets back up, but she will be ready with a spell just in case it isn't.

Julen is better at executions than him. He will wait.

Julen carves deep into the hydra's chest. Blood and gore covers him. His strike severs its heart.

"That went faster than I expected."

"Yanor, your sleep trick continues to impress. I have never been more happy to see all my buffing work be entirely wasted."

Detect Magic.

"And now for the fun part of this expedition."

Julen is trying to shake the blood out of his hair. "Could you clean me off before scouring the place for treasure? This is disgusting."

"Ah, of course." She drops the Detect and sets up a Prestidigitation, and spends her next few moments cleaning at least the most obvious gunk from Julen's skin, hair, and then clothing. In-depth cleaning will need to wait for the clothing to be foldable rather than on a body, but she can do something now.

"That's much better. Thank you."

Alright, back to Detecting Magic. Tomas is looking at things, but he can't get a scan of the entire room in twenty seconds even if he is better at figuring out what things are once he sees them.

She detects three magical auras. There's a crystal wand, a wooden amulet, and a silver ring forged to resemble a fish.

"The wand is magic! So is... that amulet... and something under the mud over there, I can't tell what." Mage Hand reveals the ring, eventually. "This."

She collects them all in a relatively dry spot with little of the dirt and mud from, presumably, the hydra going in and out of the cavern. "Tomas, a second set of eyes would be helpful here, I don't want to miss any curses." Detect Magic, but this time she's trying to figure out what the objects do.

The crystal wand is a wand of acid arrow with twenty-five charges remaining. She fails to identify the amulet and ring.

Tomas peers at the items for around half a minute. "An amulet of mighty fists and a ring of swimming. Who the fuck wastes spellsilver on a ring of swimming. Seriously..."

"The wand is Acid Arrow, about half empty. I guess someone wanted to cut off its heads, and found out the hard way a five-headed hydra is still quite deadly? Crystal... oh, it must handle the acid well, you don't want your wand even a little bit dissolving as you use it. Clever."

"Well, it might be useful. I'm not sure how much it'll sell for. I suspect we'll end up not using and then selling the amulet and the ring."

"Likely. At least they're more portable than the hammer was."

And, of course, the other side of things: what nonmagical valuables can they find in the cave? Magic items are a conveniently dense form of value, but coins and jewelry and gems are also around, and there should be some here. Especially if any of this came from a shipwreck, which might leave any number of odd objects behind.

Scattered around the cave are a couple thousand gold and silver coins, a gold ring and a silver necklace, and no gems.

The ring and (after de-mudding) necklace seem like quite fine work, worth taking back to something resembling civilization. Preferably they can find some form of solid storage to protect the jewelry, but it has been tread on by a hydra for who knows how long. It should survive. The coins... twenty pounds of gold is a lot. This is forty to fifty. They can't carry that much around with them.

"I think we will be burying rather a lot of gold. And possibly silver."

"We will also have to bury the massive hammer. It's too heavy to lug around in a dungeon." He pulls out a sack and begins collecting the coins.

"The Anytool can be a shovel as well as anything else."

Speaking of the Anytool, for now it can be a large slotted bowl, to scoop mud into and let the dirt drain out. That plus some Prestidigitation cleaning lets her collect her fair share of the hydra's hoard, and then it's off to bury things.

By the time they have dragged everything out to a recognizable spot somewhere in the middle of everything, dragged it again to a drier area where they can actually dig a hole usefully, dug said hole, dumped most of the wealth in, and covered it up (including layering coins over the hammer until a Detect Magic won't see it from above, in case anyone else comes along while they're away), the hour is late and they are all quite dirty.

"Hideaway sometime soon? We all need to get out of these garments so I can clean them, and then we need a good night's rest. Tomorrow, I think, we finally enter the Lady's Light."

"I'll set up the hideaway after sunset. I do believe we're getting there tomorrow."

Nod. They don't have that long to wait. Dragging that much weight and digging up that much ground took most of the remaining sunlit hours.

Prestidigitation. "I can clean you off a bit if you come over here. Laundry folding is better, but I at least will take what I can get."

The party is happy to clean themselves properly.

Soon enough, Yanor conjures the sylvan hideaway and serves dinner. It's berries again. How predictable.
