And she can go to the couch and read things on he phone. She glances at his screen but doesn't comment or question it. Also she's wearing her tinted glasses so this may be less obvious than otherwise.

He doesn't remark on what she's looking at or explain his show.

Two episodes of Farscape later, Haru teleports into the garage; she can hear the clatter as he gets his guns put away and stomps snow off his boots and then he's in the house and making a beeline for her.

She puts her phone away.

"Hello. The tests were successful so you can help me out as well."

"Oh good." Shirt off. Snuggle. "What did you discover?"

"Well, projecting is more expensive then the receiving, but we tested using it as a walkie talkie and that works pretty well. I have to be listening to maintain the link but I don't have to sharing all the time, just when I want to say something.I did also try sharing my vision - I actually found a good hill with a decent view for that purpose. She reported that was a little disorientating but maybe it will be amenable to practice, if I'm working with the same people a lot."

"Does it overlay or supplement the recipient's vision?"

"I'm not quite sure what you mean - it doesn't mask the recipient's own senses - she could still tell what she was seeing or hearing she could just also see or hear what I was showing her. I don't have trouble keeping track of the extra inputs on my end - though admittedly I have not tested this while doing anything very complicated or with borrowing more than one visual input at once - but I guess it's less easy for others, though the hearing was not a problem or not much of a problem.

I guess for me it's like adding an additional monitor to your computer or like those security rooms with all the camera feeds."

"Oh, cool. You should try doing more than one at once, and see how that scales, you could be very good in dungeons that electronics are allergic to."

"Sure, that sounds like a great use case for it. I could probably do a few at once if they just wanted me to be a fancy radio but I don't know how many yet and of course it will trade off against how long I can keep it up."

"Yeah. Periodic check-ins are good enough in many dungeons, though."

"Hmmm..I wonder if I could use somebody with a sensory radar type power to get in contact with people to talk to them. Since I already know I can use somebody else's physical senses for that. That way I wouldn't have to be constantly maintaining a link with people who are out of sight."

"Plausible. Sensors are in pretty high demand so it's a rare dungeon where there's budget for two."

"Well, it's worth testing I think, even if it's not feasible to implement most of the time."

"Oh, absolutely, you want to know what you can do in extremis even if it doesn't usually make sense to do."

"Do you think it might be time to think about doing powers testing in a dungeon. I mean I could probably do more practice with friends and stuff but...I have new hiking shoes - I asked somebody for store and brand recommendations for good durable shoes."

She opens the bag with the shoes in them with her foot so they can stay snuggled.

"We can find you an entry level dungeon for me to take you through if you feel about ready, but sensor powers afford a lot of non-dungeon testing, it's not like a combat power where the only way to see what you can do is to kill some monsters. So I would tend to recommend answering all the questions you can think of about your power in a non-dungeon setting first."

"I am now imagining getting a bunch of people together and cheating outrageously at paintball."

"I have occasionally had the thought that paintball would make a decent training exercise!"

"I think it would work well for me, it'd just be wildly unfair to the opposing team. I guess I could get two teams together and do a couple of games with different team compositions, but I might rack up too much backlash for it to be fun. Might have to quit early even jsut doing one game since I don't know how much it'd scale..."

"Well, if you need to take a break and guide off the backlash and then just play normal paintball no harm done, really. I could probably get some people who'd be in for powers testing paintball if you're not sure you have enough amenables?"

"Well, I don't know,I don't hang out with the kind of crowd that would find paintball particularly fun for it's own sake but I can probably find people who would find the novelty of powers-enhanced paintball fun. It'd be distinctly amateur paintball, I've only played a couple of times before myself. Actually if you know anyone who's into paintball I could maybe use some help finding the right place, I know they vary on how many obstacles they use and for the best testing I think I'd want lot of obstacles and angles."

"My shooting instructor likes paintball, I'll ask him."

"Thanks, Inconveniently the next couple of weeks are going to be busy for most of the people I know because of finals but I bet I can scrape together some people in a couple of days. Probably in the evening."

"I'll put out feelers if you want extra paintballers?"
