That's a happy adoring gaze from Lenora. She doesn't say anything, that would be interrupting. She eats at her ice cream, smiles at Thorn, resists the urge to kiss her, after a while pokes the glass tablet and naively attempts to add background music.

Her naive attempts to produce background music produce what she wants! It even cues a Sigilite song that Thorn knows the words for. She laughs, and goes on singing. She's clearly thrilled to perform for her girlfriend.

Lenora finishes her ice cream. She leans back into the couch and smiles happily and eventually closes her eyes and listens.

No being anxious and worried at the moment. Just music, and a voice that clearly has some kind of magic behind it. It's extremely relaxing. She might actually fall asleep, depending on how Thorn sings.

Thorn sings more quietly, and does some softer songs. She can see that Lenora could use some rest. So she sings, at least until the Chorister gives out. Then she quietly steps over to the console and orders blankets to cover her up.

Lenora is mostly asleep. She mutters 'love you', when blankets are applied to her, though.

Awwwwwwwww.

Thorn retreats to the other sofa and gets a romance novel and another blanket from the central rose. She's content to read and wait until Lenora wakes up again.

When she does wake up a couple of hours later, she sits up a bit sharply, looks confused, then says, "-Time dilation. Okay." Yawn. "That 'not needing as much sleep' thing is sounding better and better... Even if naps are nice."

"Yeah," says Thorn. "We can take our time. It's very nice of the Rose Bowers how it does that. We could get a technician in here to upgrade you now, or we could explore what's on the table, or whatever you prefer. It's not even been our first day here yet."

"Might as well get it out of the way, right? Even if they'll make, uh, assumptions if they come in here. We can hide the things on the table for a bit."

"Yeah, we can just put them away and the flower will remember them for us." She taps at the glass tablet and the rose blossom closes, then opens flat again with nothing on it. "We can probably get a different Clematis from last time if you want to avoid meeting anyone you know while you're here."

Lenora finds her attention snapped right to Thorn whenever she talks. It's... Nice, in a subtle, hard to define way. "Should be fine if she takes a similar kind of oath as doctors do - hippocratic oath? I don't know the details. But doctors are supposed to be trustworthy."

"Clemati take their jobs seriously, and this place can be used for things other than sex. Look at us, not even having had a little sex yet."

She taps in the order on the roseglass, and a portal appears.

Clematis steps through, wearing a long sweater dress and black tights. No shoes; apparently they're optional.

"Thank you for the interruption," she says. "I was in a bit of an awkward position."

"Thank the Rose Bowers, not me."

She gestures to Lenora. "She's your patient."

Clematis comes in and sits in a suddenly-appearing chair by Lenora's head.

"This is delicate brain work, so I'm going to need you to follow my instructions carefully. I'll ask you to imagine things, touch your head and the back of your neck a little, and I'll put you to sleep once. Are you okay with all of that?"

"Thorn says you know your job, so, 'course."

"This is like surgery, I can't stop in the middle once I start. So please follow my instructions carefully."

She reaches out to touch Lenora's head, and starts making little sigils against her skin. There's no pain, but a kind of grey blurriness passes over the world. She's thinking a little slower.

"Imagine a comforting scene, a place where you would be at rest."

She strokes her fingers back along the top of Lenora's head. The world sharpens, clarifies, becomes almost painfully bright. "Recall a memory of something that made you angry."

She pushes her fingers forwards and rests them on Lenora's forehead. The world dims a little. "Make a plan to do something, even a little thing."

The gentle touches and patient instructions continue for about fifteen minutes, gradually settling the world into something close to Lenora's original senses, but a little clearer and brighter. Finally Clematis touches Lenora's forehead and gives the command: "Sleep."

When she wakes, she feels completely refreshed, and her senses are back to normal.

"There," says Clematis. "Done."

She hesitates on a couple of the instructions. "...That was weird and a little unsettling. Changes to how I think. I guess, not that much weirder than anything else a doctor does..."

The process is fortunately designed to be reasonably tolerant to such things.

"It's always a bit unsettling the first time you get a cognitive modification like this. Don't worry, it's entirely safe."

Thorn sits down on the couch by Lenora and holds her hand.

"I hear you. I get it."

Snuggle.

"Thanks. Uh, hm. Can I still sleep for more than a couple hours if I want to?"

Snuggle.

"Yeah, it works that way for me as well. I'm able to set an alarm time pretty accurately as well."

"Yes, it works like that. And I'm glad I could be of service. I'll give you two privacy, unless there's something else you need?"

"Nothing I'm thinking of. Thanks."

Clematis flicks a portal into existence and leaves.
