Most people would find intimidating the idea of suddenly moving away and start a new life at a new High School. But Temperance took it as just an opportunity to enjoy new things, make new friends, and go new places. And it was so nice that she met Gabriel and Erin. They are very friendly, and allegedly "The Work Juice Café" is everyone's favorite meetup place for all kind activities, including this tutoring program that pair up students across the different high schools, which is a neat idea. Especially, Even if Temperance haven't done any official tutoring before. But Erin thinks her grades are good, and the tutoring program's organizer is rather friendly.
In reaction to the evidence of Ezra's habitual organization, Caine's expression relaxes a little, into something almost like a smile. He takes the notes and looks them over briefly, nodding, "These will do," he agrees.
"I have a system to write them, ask if any of it is confusing." The notes themselves are color-coded. "But most of it is matching the colors with the numbers, or the colored numbers."
He writes two sticky notes on, lending the notes to Caine, and puts one where the notes were in the folder and the other in another folder - for sticky note reminders. Then he packs the folders back.
He listens seriously and nods.
"-thank you," he adds, belated, the words tasting a little odd in his mouth. "I'll copy them and get them back to you..." he hesitates, "How long will you be here?"
"I still need to help Robin with his homework, but I think I will head home before getting dark. You can return them any time before the weekend, though."
Hm. His eyes flick towards Robin, who is directing a look at him which he can't read, and then away again.
"I'll find you at lunch tomorrow," he agrees. He pulls his own binder out of his bag and slips the papers into it.
"See you then." Ezra - oblivious of any subtext - just registers the entire interaction as uncomplicatedly positive and turns back to his table.
Caine nods to him, conspicuously ignores Erin, and turns to head downstairs and out of the coffee shop.
Erin doesn't even bother trying to look innocent. She just takes a step back, "I need to get back to Henry. Good luck with math, you two!"
"Bye?" Ezra waits until she leaves to ask Robin. "Did I miss something?"
"Uhhh," Robin stalls, and then frantically shakes his head, "Nope! Definitely not!" He looks down at the table, tugging his worksheet closer, "So the square root of 36-"
Math distraction!
"It's six..." Ezra answers, then goes over the mnemonics on square roots rather than push the topic.
"Sorry for the wait," Erin says as she settles into her seat again, "I picked up another muffin to make up for it," she claims, pushing the item in question towards Henry and Gabe, "Where were we?"
"Thank you, Erin. And we are here," Henry says, pointing at the relevant part of their work with one hand. The other takes the muffin.
Erin leans around Henry and pats Gabe's shoulder consolingly, "I don't think you're going to convince him anytime soon."
"Your sense of humour- has it's place, I'm sure?" Gabriel tries. Awkwardly.
"Aww, that was the best thing someone said about it in a while." Gabe returns the shoulder pats.
"Don't incentivize him, it took me years to train him well enough that he could be around people at all."
