"Sure, but," he shrugs, "Part of the fun of music, for me, is making it with my own hands and voice."

Shrug. "That much I can relate. Anyway, this is great. Maybe we should get you a commemorative cake or something."

Slight smile, "That's a lot of fuss for the easiest gift." 

"You did a good job, Lex, you deserve cake," Jamie says, only half-joking. "Or at least a cookie." 

"A cookie and a cake."

"Oh no, if we do both what will we escalate to when we get the wakefulness ones?" 

"Ice cream?" He shrugs. "Whatever your idea of commemorative food."

"Cake, cookie, and ice cream, for wakefulness," he nods, "And then we'll just add more as we go." 

"Before we get to celebrating," Alex cuts in, "What should we be doing now? With the goal of attuning to the vault in mind." 

"Learning how to feel all the other aspects of your lifeforce on your own. The vault will connect to them all and you have to do some reaching of your own with it. But learning how to move two out of five is enough for the basic vault tuning."

"Hm. Does that mean I should do some work with the fire gift?" He asks, visibly reluctant. 

"No, no, no we will just train you with some rituals that involve health and that will be fine."

He looks down, "I could handle it, if it would be faster."

"Pushing," Jamie half-sings. 

Alex snorts. 

"Yeah, okay... Thanks," he tells Temple. 

"My pleasure."

Alex has his cake and cookie, and eats it too (some of it, anyway, he ends up giving most of his cake to Jamie, who enjoys it much more than he would have, and also cackles quietly about the success of his master plan), and then they get to work on practicing with their health and breath, along with spending some time working on the others, of course. 

And as much Temple enjoyed staying home a bit and teach them, he is called back to work Elsewhere.

And Topher takes over. He is a much more structure teacher, but at this point it's more about reinforcing the basics and getting them to attune to the vault.

They'll miss him dearly! Learning magic does take the edge off, though, as does exploring the area around the Graywards' home, which they spend a fair amount of time doing in between Topher's lessons. 

Are they willing to help out Franklyn taking care of animal life too? He knows the area the best.

They'd be delighted! 

Awesome! Franklyn and Topher have combined their powers to teach the area's birds (they have a raven flight called The Evermores) to patrol the area, but even with that they don't spend all their hiking time going to or from hurt animals. They can just enjoy nature. Franklyn even has the opportunity to truly demonstrate his Pocahontasness by playing with a black bear family he knows (though the twins need to stay up in a tree just watching).

And they can also train in the forest. Since that's their regular battleground and everything.

Jamie is frequently attacked by bouts of 'Franklyn: Adorable!!' Whenever they go on hikes together. He's very sad he can't play with the bears.
