There was always the threat that they'd be separated. Supposedly they try to keep twins together in the system, but sometimes there's just no good space nearby for two new kids, it can't be helped, and maybe they'll be more tractable if they're not both there encouraging each others' problematic bahaviour, anyway, right?
Well, Angela has never run away from a foster home before, not really. Maybe she and Alex have spent a night somewhere else when they weren't supposed to, but they always came back. Since she has no plans to return, this time, it seems like the services people were wrong about that last bit.
She's been out in the woods for three days, now, and hasn't been back into town yet. She found a little stream with a good spot to camp nearby, built herself a stick-thing to hide her tarp-tent with, and has been living off the food she brought and the stuff she found with the help of a library book on foraging she brought with her. She might have to go back into town eventually, but for now she thinks she's doing pretty good.
Problem is... her ultimate goal here is getting back to Alex. And she doesn't know how to do that at all. She sits in front of her little campfire (fairly competently built, Alex looked up how to do it and showed her a few months ago) and thinks.
