"Huh.... I thought it would be weirder."
"No- well, if you die, your Boon breaks. But they won't so long as you're alive. Or if I die," he adds as an afterthought, "But that's pretty unlikely!"
"Huh, does this means I can use my metamagic to poke and pull at it without it breaking? I mean, my metamagic really doesn't break things..."
He grins, "Oh, metamagic! You should definitely try. I don't know how well it will work - on the one hand, Boons are usually pretty unchangeable, but on the other hand, it is my aura running that."
"I don't blame you!" She laughs, changing to match. "-Are you gonna go by she like that, or stick to he, or pick something else?" She thinks to ask.
"Huh... either way? I guess. I never had gender feelings before, except for wishing to know what it was like."
"What a familiar feeling. I was born female, but I like the male body just as much. Sometimes I use different forms, but these two are my current favourites." She hums, "If I hadn't gotten change when I apotheosized, I probably would have picked something like it as one of my patronages."
"Your domain isn't. It always suits you, but you don't get conscious control of what it is. Even patronages can only sort of be called a choice. They're based partly on what you do with your power, and partly on what you like doing. Mostly what I do is go places, and I like helping people who are trapped, so those are my patronages. But if I started doing a lot more... I don't know, stealing or something, and I did that for a long enough time, one of them could be replaced by it."
"My magic is also sort of personality based but not under one's choice. Except that some of us can train it in certain directions."
"Don't worry," she tells Heri, "I don't steal much anymore. I don't need to," she shrugs. "Mostly what I steal nowadays is people, if you can even count that."
"What can you do with your magic, exactly? I can tell there's something change-y about it. You're very travel-y and freedom-y and change-y," she adds, "If I were a Shallow God - the kind that needs worshipers - I'd definitely be wooing you pretty hard."
Giggle. "I can understand and change magic. Not very fast, magic is complicated and very tightly built. And maybe you should be wooing me. I have a new body to explore."
"Temple figured out a part of our powers that we haven't," Heri says only processing Temple's last statement half-way through his own sentence.
Tobir processes it fast enough that he doesn't add anything to Heri's sentence, instead looking from one immortal to the other with wide eyes for a moment.
...Actually, on second thought, looking back on this conversation, he's not very surprised.
She giggles, both at Temple's suggestion and the twins' sudden realization, "Well, I can't say no to exploring new spaces, can I? What kind of travel god would I be, then?" She bounces a bit, "Do you want to come explore those caves some more with me? I bet there's more I didn't see, and if we find a spot we want to stop at for a while I can make it more comfortable while we're there."
"You're very welcome," The Wanderer tells them, "Just make sure to put those to good use. Sow some chaos among your enemies and all that good stuff," she grins.
"This way," she says, and with a last wave to the trio, she takes Temple's hand and sets off into the trees.
