"Hard? Rigid?"

"Yeah, that. Elements are not rigid like that. And I think Mika is more Coru. And you're more Sweela," Shen says to Lesi.

Nodnod, "Me too. Sometimes it matches the blessings," she adds, "But mine're different elements. I've got Resolve, that's Hunti, Honesty, Torz, and Talent, Sweela. Mika's got two Coru ones and an Elay one, though." 

"I have two Elay, Beauty and Honor, and I also have Patience and that's Torz. I think Torzs fits me better."

"You're not Torz, Aden is Torz. I am Torz. I think you're Hunti?"

"You can be both, you know. That's why I said Mika is kinda Elay, too. 'Coru with a crown of Elay'." 

"That sounds like... cheating?"

"Cheating how?" Staring at her.

Ita blushes under the scrutiny. "Kinda like you can't be two castes? You shouldn't just be two elements."

"Castes aren't personality, though. There's more than five kinds of people in the world. And I mean... lots of people like to do outcaste things, right? I'm grey, not green, but I also like reading and singing and learning new things." 

"That's because we go to a weird school," Iti says "where we have to do green home work." She points at the barely remembered homework on the table, which turns out to be about interpreting blessings.

"This is the best school. And Lesi is right, caste aren't the same thing as personality."

"I like this school," Lesi agrees. She makes a face, "I guess going to a grey school would be fine, but it wouldn't be as good as going here. And Mika would hate it," she says with certainty. 

"Mika doesn't like school anyway," Kasi's voice is very quiet, and further muffled by his book. 

"Yeah, but grey school would be worse. It would be boring."

"I like the way classes are here."

"It can be fun, I wish we could just know... our powers, so we could pick a track already."

"Sometimes your birth blessings can tell a bit about that, too. Everyone thinks Raeni's gonna see the future or something, cause she has Vision and Time." 

"That would be really cool. She could see what her enemy will do and stop all attacks."

"Mhm! Most of us don't have that.... but you have Time, too, right?" She asks Tani, "Maybe your gemini power will be future stuff too."

"Yeah, but maybe it's not like that. They say it can be more waiting and I already have patience."

"Or you can be like the hero super-Moment and you can time stop, which would be cool too."

"If it means waiting that could mean super patience. Maybe that'll be your super power. I dunno how you'd use that for superheroing, though." 

"Ugh."

"Or maybe not." Ita reassures. "People think mine will let me make a lot of money, but maybe it won't I will just be a good cook or something." Pout. "Parik is sometimes mean about it, he wanted to have Wealth."

"He's mean about it? Why? We're probably all gonna have enough for a bunch of credits no matter what, 'specially when we figure out how to get to other planets with magic. What else would he do with money?"
