"You can turn things into crystal and then the crystal remembers what it was and you can unturn the crystal and if you do it right you get two of the same thing. And you can heal. And there is a really difficult kind of crystal that you can make that gives you your own super-power."

"More superpowers?" She hums, "I'd like to be able to heal," she admits quietly, glancing at the nearest tutor out of the corner of her eye to make sure she's not too close. "I hope my powers let me do that... or work with plants, maybe." 

"Those would be great powers. I am hoping that they will let magic be casteless." She adds suddenly.

She blinks in surprise, then smiles, "Yes, me too." 

While all this has been going on, Lesi had moved on from playing with her ring to reading, though she still has it on, making the corner around her armchair pretty chilly. She's curled around a long book she's been working on for a few days, attention wholly consumed by it.

Ovali spots Lesi and when she is close enough, he lets out a surprised breath at the cold. "Hi, Lesi. Why it's so cold here?"

"Mom, said it would be silly if they didn't let it be, because powers are sort of random." Tepam says sagely.

She nods, "It would be. If I do get a power that lets me heal, it would be very silly if I couldn't use it."

She looks up at him, "Oh!" She holds out her hand, showing him the ring on her thumb (it keeps trying to slip off, so she's holding it on by keeping her fist closed), "Mama showed us how to enchant today. I made a cooling ring." She pauses, "Englacial," she adds, turning the ring off. The air rapidly warms. 

"Oh, that is really cool!" Ovali says. "Hey, me and the other grays are talking about the elements, do you want to join us?"

She pushes forward to the edge of her chair and onto the floor, "Sure, I guess. Which greys?" 

"Me, my sister, Iti, Tey, Shen and Shen's brother." he points at a table, it's not particularly close, but there are no other greys between here and there. "Also Ita, who is purple."

Nodnod, "Okay," she'll head over to the table then.

Kasi - Shen's brother - looks up from his book as she approaches, nods, and turns his attention back to it. He's paying attention to the conversation (sort of), but anything he wants to say Shen will probably say for him.

Shen waves. "Hey, did you ask her?"

"Not yet. Hold on." Ovali takes a seat and offers the one next to himself for Lesi. "We are talking about the five elements from the worlds where the blessings come from. And if we match it or not."

"I am very Torz," Ita announces. "But I don't know anyone else? And some are confusing."

She settles into a chair, "Everyone says Mika is Coru," she offers. "But kind of Elay, too. Mama says I'm Sweela, 'cause I'm curious and I like reading and sometimes I get really angry." 

"That's what I don't get. Isn't that Hunti the one that gets angry?"

"It's a different kind of angry. I think with Sweela it's louder? Because it's fire and it explodes. While Hunti it's... Iti is Hunti, and she gets angry like that."

Iti nods, with her usual serious expression.

"You're not supposed to think the elements are... hard..."

"Hard? Rigid?"

"Yeah, that. Elements are not rigid like that. And I think Mika is more Coru. And you're more Sweela," Shen says to Lesi.

Nodnod, "Me too. Sometimes it matches the blessings," she adds, "But mine're different elements. I've got Resolve, that's Hunti, Honesty, Torz, and Talent, Sweela. Mika's got two Coru ones and an Elay one, though." 

"I have two Elay, Beauty and Honor, and I also have Patience and that's Torz. I think Torzs fits me better."

"You're not Torz, Aden is Torz. I am Torz. I think you're Hunti?"
