"I think it's very rare for people who test smart enough to be a wizard to have a hard time learning any magic, though some can never learn more than a couple easy spells."
"Even that would be super cool! And useful! Okay - you guys are going over what their spells are, right, we should finish taking notes on that - "
The highest level of spell he can cast is third, and he usually prepares Channel Vigor, Bestow Curse, Prayer and in his domain slot Protection from Energy. Sometimes instead of Prayer he'll get Locate Object or Daylight depending what they're expecting to run into. He explains all of these.

"No. It's like he took a bunch of mechanics and organizational stuff that their world uses, and then, like, transplanted it onto a different world and then radically reworked the spells for some reason?"
" - that's not that weird, we do that with D&D all the time. Like, we don't rework the spells, but kind of because it'd be effort to balance the game if we did."
"It's also possible he visited or had information from a different world in the same plane. One assumes there are lots."
"Oh, yeah, I guess, if you have a bunch of planets. It would be kind of weird if they had basically the same spread of races and classes and stuff, but I guess - weirder things have happened, right?"
