"I hope so, for all of our sakes. I think I'll wait with you for your ride."

They wait.

...she did expect this. And it shouldn't actually bother her. The beta should learn how to handle situations like this. But. It makes her uncomfortable now. She doesn't know why though.

"Allison, go outside. I'll finish our chores."

"...Okay."

She looks at Victoria, who nods.

Regan takes over washing the dishes. After a few moments she looks over at her mom.

"I think I like him. The beta. He's... nice." She doesn't sound happy about this.

"As long as you remember your priorities, you can feel however you like. He seems too naive by half, and worse, he means well. I hope Allison knows what she's doing."

"She says she does. Whether or not that's true in practice...." Regan will be there to compensate.

"I trust both of you in theory. In practice...I'm glad we have you, Regan. You're the only other sensible person in this family."

There's some conversation outside as Scott gets picked up, but she can't hear it after he closes the Jeep's door.

Stiles drives off. Allison and their grandfather rejoin them.

"Well, that was an interesting evening. I'm glad I was in town for this!"

Gladder that Kate wasn't. He hopes she doesn't fight him on this.

"And nobody was killed. I would say that was a success, but we are Argents."

"It won't be a success until we bring him into the fold or kill him. It did make me hopeful that it could be the former."

"Regan, how was his heartbeat?"

"Steady. Healthy. Only unusual responses happened when his dad was brought up. He's hiding something."

"I doubt he's hiding anything truly incriminating. The boy's major weakness is his lack of sense."

"I'm most concerned about the connection to the FBI. Otherwise, I doubt he's a threat."

"Do we have connections there? If not this could potentially be an in."

"That's what I'm thinking. I think if we play our cards right, Scott might be one of the luckiest possible finds for a future Argent."

"Guess you'll just have to find out what's up with his dad then."

"I guess I will."

"Allison, why don't you sit with me for a while so we can brainstorm next steps?"

Regan takes the cue. "I was thinking about going to catch up with dad, see if he needs any help. Granddad, wanna go on a field trip?"

"You know that I'm always ready for a bit of a hunt."

She hugs her mom and sister. "Don't wait up. Will call you if anything exciting happens."
