"We met when I fell through the natural portal from Earth, I was the first human in Arda, and then when I did precognition about it I found that I got directed to you if I asked for somebody who'd be better than a random passerby at talking to an alien, so I went and found you. Lately I'm doing a lot of precognition in case anything else happens in Valinor, it was kind of a mess."

"- oh, I can imagine - how's my grandmother doing -"

"...Melkor killed her on her way out."

"My mom -"

Melkor has some unknown amount of mindreading "Stuck on Earth like me when the portals closed."

"You can do this transdimensionally?"

"It relies on my ability to establish mental contact and I already had interdimensional telepathy, it stretched pretty easy."

"Are you doing this with everyone in Melkor's hands -"

"No. You're the only one I've dreamed with before - I've only even met one of the others before and she didn't want to talk to me."

"...okay."

...and she might have a point, but Maitimë -

"....hug?"

"A hug would be great."

Hug.

Hug. Sigh.

And then she's gone.

When Isabella wakes up she says [Maitimë?]

Long pause. 

[Isabella.]

[...still want to try eidetic memory?]

[okay -]

Tries it -

No response for a while.

[Maitimë?]

Maitimë is screaming but she is not sending that to Isabella she can't do that to Isabella Isabella doesn't need to know eventually it will stop and then she will be able to pull together enough of a fraction of her head to answer normally -

 - it takes a while -

- tell your girlfriend that I'd like to talk to her, Maira says. Maira sounds annoyed, and hurts her as she says it, so probably Maira has been saying it a lot of times, and Maitimë was in too many pieces to hear her - 

Maitimë falls back apart, if she thinks about it she might do it and if Maira wants it then it's bad and if she's not processing then she can't betray anyone or anything -

Isabella gives up for a while. Thinks about killing Melkor.
