"Than literally nothing, yes, than getting a decent book read to me no. But anything that extends your tolerance to cover the week is good."

"...Yeah, sorry, reading an entire book out loud sounds kind of like torture.  I bet you can get my uncle to do it; he likes showing off and is more patient than me.  This is better or worse than you telling me the plots of books?"

"Worse, I think."

"Do you think a non-puzzle game might be less worse or no?"

"Mostly the problem is that I can't concentrate on the individual layout of each puzzle, so I'm just talking about the plot, which like you warned me is not amazing, and about generalities of Minesweeper, which get samey fast, like, there's only so many times I can comment on how whenever there's a corner like that it's got to be a mine."

"I like most of the plot, I just think it handled a couple things poorly later on.  But Excelsior might be better?  It's actually co-op; you play as a pair of secret agents infiltrating different places by climbing buildings in various ways.  Sometimes you're literally attached to each other but generally you're having to work pretty closely together in order to do things that your character can do that the other one can't.  I don't know whether that's social enough or whether you can even like, hold a controller without it being miserable for you."

"I don't think I'm specifically impaired in merely holding a controller. Though we might wind up compromising on cuddliness in ways I won't love."

"Let's give it a go?"  She exits the game and then leads Haru up to the console under the TV to extract the controllers.  What if they sit like - this - with their sides pressed together, and, hm.  Arms are hard.  She goes through a couple configurations.  "How's this?

"I'll live. - it's not hard to answer 'better or worse' type questions but on an absolute scale the week is going to suck."

"...Ugh.  Well, I'm probably still going to want to mix it up in five minutes anyway.  - And shoot, I forgot to connect them."  She's going to steal Haru's controller back and lean off the couch to tap them against the side of her laptop until they chime.  And then back in position.

She doesn't bother starting a new file on this one, just goes into an existing one and navigates through the level select.  A cutscene with voice acting starts playing but she skips it.  Apparently this level has the two of them tied together at the waist with a length of rope, and they're trying to climb the outside of this variously-textured skyscraper.  Sometimes they're sticking to glass walls, sometimes they're navigating platforms.  A lot of it is one of them standing in a spot while the other swings back and forth until there's enough momentum for the first to jump and send them both flying.

Ari wants to switch positions after they cross the first real obstacle (what if her legs were across his lap?) and after another two, "- Where's the suckage level at?"

"Suckage level is tolerable, I'm mostly able to look at the screen even."

"This is a pretty easy level; do you think you'll be able to handle harder stuff or is that not hopeful."

"It might depend on what way it's harder."

"Some of them are tighter windows on coordination fundamentally like this; there are some we should probably skip with us doing separate minigames to unlock different stuff; there are some with minigames that still involve cooperating pretty tightly, like, taking turns doing a thing, or there's one where like you're doing one of those electric grid puzzles, but one player has horizontal movement and the other has vertical, and the puzzle itself is pretty easy because the hard part is working in sync."

"I could probably take turns doing a thing if the thing itself isn't too complicated or you're prompting me through my turns."

"Let me know if it gets worse than Weeper?"

"Will do."

Ever upward, then!  (With breaks for Ari to switch up the way she's in contact with him pretty frequently.  It ends up being mostly leg-based.)

Beggars can't be choosers.

Ari doesn't have more than about two hours of playing this in her, even if Haru does.

He calls a halt after forty-five minutes. "It might be worth trying more of this again later but I'm getting pretty sick of it."

"Fair!"  She starts shutting it down and packing up the objects.  "Where the heck were we, in you telling me stories?"

"We were halfway through the Odyssey, shall I pick up from where you fell asleep?"

"Maybe a little before?"

"Sure." He rewinds and resumes.
