He's got more questions till he's wrung every detail out of the story and then wants to know how Ember would care to be paid.

...I will have to get an email address and a bank account, I suppose. I've been putting it off because the internet's very confusing.

"...okay, I can give you my email address and when you've got that sorted out you can let me know?"

Is there any other way to move money around?

"People ever use physical cash but I'm not sure where I'd get this much physical cash. I could order you a giftcode, or I guess about six of them since I think they have an amount ceiling."

...Mmm, online banking seems suspicious but if I don't do anything to make it easy to pay me I can't complain if you don't pay me. One who does that is not exactly a great trade partner. Can you write down the email address? I'll figure it out.

"Sure." He has a slip of paper in his pocket and can write on the back of it.

She calls in a favor to enlist the help of an aspiring climatologist Draak who's been talking with any green who will talk to him, and sets these things up, and emails him in terrible barely-comprehensible Tapai with some details from their conversation to prove it's her.

Do you want to double check that for typos since you're new to writing? Once I send the money I can't get it back and re-send it to a different address!

Will do it.

It is this number. Have good luck.

She repeats the account number three times. No typos, apparently.

And she gets a tidy sum and an email asking where to send the photographer's cut.

...Can Amseli or someblue tell her who helped out River when she did all those concerts a while ago? Ember is not sure how to get her paid correctly, and whoever organized things for her when she did the concerts seems the correct person to ask.

Amseli can get ahold of River's helper and sort that out.

The article goes live as soon as the money's where it goes. The Gazette rakes in advertising impact.

Ember has no way to tell how much money they're making or how small a proportion of it went to her and River. Instead, she is attempting to hire a shopping assistant.

She can get a shopping assistant! He's a cheery purple.

Hello! I want to spend as much as possible of what I just got paid - she gives the number - on jewelry and shiny things, or maybe gadgets, less your pay. I want to spend all of it. I don't know how to navigate this, so it's good there are people who do this kind of thing.

"Wow, okay. Do you want to have any input on what exactly I buy for you, or shall I just pick out things that seem suitable?"

Draak really really like having Treasure! It seems like a natural and obvious category to us but Amentans don't have that. Maybe I should go with you to stores and see things - Maybe I should show you mental images of some of my favorite things I already have - I know there aren't stores aimed at Draak because none of us have money really. There are a lot of things Amentans have that I would never know I might want if I don't realize they exist, maybe you should tell me things like that?

"Sure, I can show you pictures of things and bring you to stores. Knowing what your existing taste is like would be great too."

Pictures on small screens are not very easy to see. But I can show you the kinds of things I have and like...

Her taste is shiny bits of metal, various crystals and gemstones and geodes, long feathers and animal skins, fossils, polished stone, and sculptures made of all the previous things.

"So, things that make things more expensive in Amentan markets might not be the same things that make things more valuable to you. Do you care if things are mass-produced? Artificial or natural, with the gems and such? I've heard Draak don't like how we farm animals, do you only want wild-harvested? Should I look for big-name artists, or obscurer ones earlier in their careers who don't appeal as much to the Amentan art world?"

...Maybe avoid animals entirely. Artificial gemstones? Are they indistinguishable from natural ones? Being mass-produced makes something somewhat less good. I don't think anything I get on Amenta will be primarily Treasure-like for its uniqueness, though, so only somewhat. I don't think an artist being famous in the Amentan world will be worth the extra cost unless big name artists are much better at it than obscure ones. And I might want a very durable computer and TV and a camera like River's with big buttons and some solar panels, if that's not terribly expensive.

"I can make that happen. Artificial gems are often bigger and less flawed. Otherwise no difference. How do you feel about reproductions of artworks - not mass produced like prints, but handmade copies?"

I think I like the idea of artificial gems. Reproducing another's art is kind of rude, but it doesn't really make them worth less, or less pleasingly shiny. I don't think I want anything on canvas or paper though.

"People do them of sculptures too, I can stick to artist-authorized if you like."
