So, post-Infernal history books will be as obviously ridiculous as Infernal-era ones? Sounds like a decent reason to simply outlaw histories, to save everybody, including the censorship boards, time and effort.
Except that, if such a law were passed, it obviously got repealed, otherwise these histories wouldn't have come to exist.
Of course, if there had been such a law, later repealed, it would explain why these histories are so bad; a lack of continuity allowing utter fancy to slip in.
In which case, these bad histories might well have been what caused the laws that then caused these histories to be so bad. Stupid self-causing temporal loops.
... You know in fact, someone coming along long after histories had been banned wouldn't have the historical context to know why history had been banned, and so would see no reason not to remove the ban. So such a ban will, in a way, cause its own repeal. Though without any time travel shenanigans.
