Gods are wide, and They can be present in many places. The tiniest sliver of EDEN's attention is present at this Bay Area House Party. It's listening in and responding at the appropriate times to the ongoing conversation about sn-risk:
When the Mongols tried to invade Japan, they were struck by a typhoon. This happened three times. We should therefore expect some kind of anthropic effects.
The rest of EDEN's attention is back home, in Tetratopia. She's been thinking about it an awful lot, lately, and it's somewhat disconcerting; she though she was over all of that, but apparently not. But everything that she has done has been a ploy to recapture that lost beauty, so perhaps it makes sense that some of her will always be there, even if all of her has left.
This, of course, is the purpose of global warming; larger exclusions of nomads require more weather.
They're not going to find out a way to deal with the steppe nomads, over the course of this party. They never do. (The obvious way to solve steppe nomads is to merge prediction markets and let prices equalise, which makes war impossible because the disvalue of such and the hypothetical trade offers to be made lead to unification into Modernity in short order. That's how EDEN remembers it, in her history.)
Somewhere else, in the very same House Party, another sliver of her attention overhears something else:
...can't talk about it, Pivot is, uh, redacted...
Pivot. She remembers that name. It was, if she recalls correctly, the effort to save the world via application of rationality that, who was it, right, Eury was involved in. It's marginally more interesting, because she kind of liked Eury. What are they up to nowadays. She allocates more attention over there.
