(Next to him, Raine shrinks, very slightly.)

She doesn't answer, doesn't flinch. 

"You were des-per-ate," he says, savoring the word, "for my cunt around your dick."

"Christine?" he says, louder than conversational volume but very deliberately not yelling. 

Christine looks up and then looks at Harry.

He hurries to a seat and then is very very quiet.

Raine relaxes once he's gone. 

Lev smiles at Jan and waves at her a little bit.

She smiles and waves a little bit back, from her seat. 

Christine pauses near Marlo and whispers something that might be "I am sorry about this."

He takes Raine's hand and squeezes it. 

Serena gets in front of the group. "Many homosexuals are unfamiliar with appropriate dating etiquette. In order to allow you to be comfortable dating heterosexually, I will present how to date a person of the opposite sex."

She hands out binders. On page three of the binder is this handout.

That's... certainly something. 

...she's pretty sure that this isn't how anyone dates.

This does not make him any less alarmed about how mainstream American culture treats women!

Lev is torn between "but what if I like it when people look comfortable" and "RAINE IN A SUNDRESS! RAINE IN A SUNDRESS!"

That's... kind of fair, but given the preceding paragraph Marlo doesn't trust it at all. 

...okay, that one isn't just straight people, that is legitimately pretty decent dating advice most of the time. Except for the implication that comfortable clothes are a bad thing.
