He does, and then pulls Lev into his lap and hugs him. 

"They're never going to be proud of me now."

"If they aren't proud of you they don't deserve you." 

"It still hurts."

"I know." 

"I'm... glad that I have you and you're proud of me."

"I'm glad I have you. And I'm sorry about your family." 

"I hope yours is better."

He's sniffling a bit into Marlo's shoulder.

They won't respond well either. 

"I do too." 

"But we have each other. So things can be okay."

"We do," still soft. "They will." 

Raine sends her parents an email. 

Mom, Dad,

You sent me to True Directions hoping it would make me straight. And while you didn't quite get what you hoped for, it did work, in a way.

"Yeah." She's still clinging to Asher's shoulder, a little. 

Asher is going to hold her and NOT grin because being cut off by your family is very sad and he has empathy for this experience.

Asher is very good and she loves him very much and — and she has him and he has her and they can be okay. 

"I'll take care of you. --I'll do my best."

"Yeah." She reaches around to hold his hand. "We'll figure it out." 

"We will. We should see what Lev and Marlo's plans are."
