She smiles, and ruffles his hair. "Well. Maybe not immediately. The puppy is growing on me."

"Good." He nuzzles her leg. "Being a sexy scary vampire all the time would be exhausting. Sometimes you just gotta flop."

Lynne bursts into helpless giggles. "Oh you're - you're too cute!" She leans down to hug him, folding herself awkwardly over her own lap, but caught up in the moment like this she hardly even minds her own gracelessness.

He hugs back, laughing delightedly, and then pulls her down into the nest with him so they can snuggle more comfortably.

Oh. Goodness. He - can still just move her around like that, yes, that makes perfect sense, he hasn't stopped being a vampire or anything. In fact he's apparently gotten even more powerful, what with raising the dead being a thing he can do now.

She wraps her arms around him and presses her face against his chest and there is absolutely no way he isn't perfectly aware of how scared and turned on and nervous and conflicted she is. She's such a mess. Why does he even like her.

He pets her hair and cuddles her and doesn't say anything about her reaction one way or another.

He's so good. No he isn't, he's a rapist and a murderer - he has technically done at least one and arguably both of those things to her - and she's fucked up for liking him. Maybe she wouldn't like him so much if he wasn't significantly nicer to her than anyone else she's ever met. Is that what 'grooming' is? Just be really nice to someone with really low standards and then they'll beg you to fuck them to death? Ugh, she's so pathetic.

"Hey," he murmurs. "You okay?"

She sighs. "I'm a mess, but I'm not any more of a mess than usual."

"Mm." Pet pet. "Do you want anything? Breakfast? More snuggles?"

She bites her lip again - ugh why is she like this - but then nods, decisively. "You know what, yes. Breakfast and snuggles. That sounds fantastic."

He laughs, and hugs her, and sits up. The round bowl of the nest/bed shifts, folding up into a curve like the tall arch of an ocean wave. There is a small pillowvalanche. Tas settles back against the newly upright section and draws Lynne gently into his lap, and once she's comfortably seated, he conjures a bowl of assorted fruits.

She doesn't even recognize some of those. Are they space fruits? Is it safe to eat space fruits? Whatever. She's just gonna go with it. She leans back against him and eats his magic fruit. Nearly all of it is delicious, although the blue-black cherries are a little too sour and the white melon-ball-ish things are weirdly bland and crunchy.

Tas hugs her with one arm and holds the fruit bowl steady in her lap with the other. He doesn't say anything.

It's... comfortable. Weirdly comfortable. Like the moment in a movie when somebody's about to say 'quiet... too quiet'. Nothing's actually wrong but the fact of nothing being wrong is enough to put her a little on edge.

Tas is very cozy, though.

She finishes the bowl of fruit; there are two blue cherries and a melon ball left in the bottom when she's done. She looks down at them and tries to decide whether this is the sort of situation where you finish everything to be polite, and then tries to decide exactly how ridiculous it is that that's her first instinct when cuddled in the lap of an immortal vampire who personally brought her back from the dead because he liked her so much. Like, at what point does she stop feeling like she needs to tread carefully and justify her existence at every turn? If he didn't want her around he wouldn't have resurrected her, and if he changes his mind about whether she should be alive he has a solution to that.

The bowl and its rejected fruits all neatly vanish, and Tas wraps both his arms around her and nuzzles the top of her head. "You're lovely," he murmurs. "I missed you."

"You knew me for six hours!" she protests incredulously.

"They were a very memorable six hours!" Hug. "You're - I like you. I like the way you think, the way you talk, the way you - I don't know how to put it - you're so aware of things. And it's amazing how you're so into the vampire thing. And... I liked killing you. I liked it even more than I expected to. I liked that I could make it nice, I liked that it could be romantic, I liked that the things I wanted and the things you wanted were so close together I hardly even had to try to make it the best night of your life. It would've been worth trying a lot harder. I... I'm really glad I could give you that. If you ask me to kill you again, I'm going to be sad because I want you around, but happy because I'll get to be extravagant about it."

"...oh," she says, squirming slightly in his lap. He's... so sincere, so genuine. It really feels like he just means every word he says, no tricks. Are there even people like that? Maybe thousand-year-old magical vampires get to transcend human nature as well as physics. "Um." She should think of some sort of coherent response. "Thank... you?"

He laughs softly and hugs her some more. "You're really cute, you know that?"

"I just - I don't know how to deal with someone being this nice to me!"

"Relax and enjoy it?" he suggests.

She snorts. "You say that like it's supposed to be easy. Relaxing and enjoying things has never been my specialty."

"Aww." He pets her hair. "Maybe I can help with that."

"You are pretty good at making me enjoy things."

She squirms a little, remembering how it felt to have the life drained out of her, how he could just effortlessly hold her down and force her to orgasm for an hour straight. It's admittedly super hot, but... she's kind of nervous, thinking about it. She seems to have put herself in a position where he is implicitly invited to make her enjoy anything she doesn't quite want or can't ask for or agree to but would still like if it happened... and it's not even that she necessarily objects to that kind of thing on principle... but she doen't think she wants to be made to enjoy anything particularly intense right now. And she's really not sure how to say so.
