Yeah. Uh, Elves're - inclined to figure things need time. If they actually need something else you'll probably have to be the one to figure that out.

Yeah.

I'll figure it out eventually. Humans don't die of grief, so.

No, humans just die of ...time having happened.

This does suggest the need for an alternative grieving strategy.

I guess.

I guess alternatively I could always sit in this room until I die, this is also an option available.

Well, I'm gonna nag my brothers about using the Silmarils to make humans immortal. Even if you don't want me to, actually.

They can do that?

I don't know. But the Silmarils are pretty bullshit. They're meant to - they're meant to clarify and preserve and sustain things, first and foremost, so it seems like they should translate to that pretty well, and then separately from that you can clarify and preserve and sustain magic with them, so you can make anything you can do at all last for longer...

Neat.

I'm - not really in any hurry to go to hell, so. Doubt anything hurts less there.

Mandos isn't even supposed to be horrible and it's - worse, much worse, it just shreds you.

Aaaa.

Hug. Alex should not be shredded by things.

- hug but - hey, hey, I'm fine, I'm fine, it was a while ago, please don't worry.

I'm not worried. I'm sad. And I think I need hugs anyway.

Hug. Well unlike you I deserved it.

I think I like it better when people don't have to get shredded even if they deserve it.

Well, yeah. But, like, most humans? They don't really know what's going on, they don't know if there's even definitely an afterlife, they never know if they're okay or not. Whereas we meet the guy who is like 'if you do bad things you have to get shredded in my pocket dimension before you come back to life, here's the list of bad things'. We knew, we chose it.

- I guess it's more like that for you, too, but -

I guess.

If I had regrets I wouldn't have to do it, so.

It wouldn't've been thirty thousand years if I'd just let Mandos fix me, so, same.

Mhmm.

You gonna have overpopulation problems if you make everyone immortal?

Probably.

I guess maybe you can invent space travel or terraforming or something after. In thirty thousand years.

Yeah. I don't know what we'll do but the alternative it has to beat is 'kill everyone when they hit seventy' so.

Yeah.

He asks Wishbone about whether the Silmarils could be used to send them back, if there's even a 'back' to send them to, and doesn't mention it to Karen.
