"Agreed," Fenris says somewhat approvingly. "Maybe the girls already came back from the lion's den?"

"Maybe they did. Let's find out."

Here are the girls. They returned safe and sound and tell then how the Operation: Lion's Den went through.

Scott cuddles with Kato as this goes on.

"We can't trust anyone who hunts people. Maybe they decided you're like werewolves: acceptable targets."

"It sounds like they think Kate was out of line, they might see that as betrayal no matter how they feel about us."

"I don't think they know we are supernaturals." Vera says. "I didn't read any sign they are suspicious that we are."

"They might have found my hair suspicious," Vii suggests waving at her long white hair.

"Maybe, and we were pretty mysterious," Vera admits, "but I don't think they decided we are magical or even suspiciously motivated. At any rate I don't trust their judgement either. In the same conversation they talked how a mother would never reject their child but also how the current system hinges on alphas consistent ability to do so. I really doubt they have the self-awareness to realize that the same failure mode applies to the situation with Kate."

"Joy." Fenris says, he might be just a tiny bit acerbic.

"And then they invited us to stay over for dinner." Vii comments.

"How friendly."

"Why do alphas have to reject their kids? Did they explain a lot about how alphas work? How they handle them?" 

"Not a whole deal besides that the alphas are supposed to keep their betas in check. If they had other options besides killing, I wasn't informed."

"No, how do they kill them? They're humans with guns, how are they fighting alphas?"

"Stiles, drop it. We need to figure out how to get Kate arrested without relying on the Argents."

"I mean, maybe they use heavier artillery. Killing an werewolf doesn't sound that hard. Nor containing them. But really, lets not resort to murder it will give us extra time on the glorious day Fenris figures out resurrection."

"Do you have a containment plan you want to share with the class?"

"I meant once you're faced with the problem through years. And honestly there are probably ways to contain things like rampaging elephants."

"Hunters might not have the resources to acquire that, but that is hard to buy given the sheer amount of weaponry we found in the Argent's home. At any rate, we could create elephant-grade tranquilizer darts. Or nets, we didn't exactly thought out all our options."

"If we're willing to ignore the whole secrecy thing, all we need is to convince one hunter to help us. But it looks like everyone likes how things are, so unless you bring your dad into it-"

"For curiosity's sake, what did you want to propose, Scott?"

"Never mind. We should focus on how we're trapping the alpha."

"Well, yes. We were considering using you as a bait and then portaling him into either mine or Felix's pocket dimension. We can make something like a underground bunker with an exit to Earth and that opens when the alpha is close enough. ...We could go with this plan and use Kate instead, he can't possibly want you more than her."

"...yeah. If we don't explain this to Allison, her parents will."

Kato puts an arm around Scott and squeezes.

"Any idea how she would react? Do you think we should tell her instead?"
