"This alpha has already murdered multiple people. If we can kill it before it compromises its betas any further, we should be fine."

"I was speaking more in terms of specific strategies. If you have a plan to lure it somewhere, and what have you."

"That shouldn't be difficult. It wants Kate."

Vera nods. "We have colleagues with resources that might be interested to help. We would need to consult them first though. And we want to ask more questions about the general state of the world, but we would understand if you'd like to kick out the two mysterious girls that showed up at your doorstep asking questions."

"Nonsense. You two should stay for dinner."

"They probably have somewhere to be, Chris."

"Well, girls?"

"We appreciate the invitation, but we don't want to run into Kate and we reserved this time only for the sake of exchange information and get your side of the debacle."

Vii - who has been mostly quiet and observing the conversation - quietly wonders if this was meant to lower their guard down.
