Kinda still have a job here. But I'll fly low. Tell the Bureau I'm gonna need a lot of cells. Also that all of the monsters they're gonna get are actually transformed eight-year-olds and that they should plan accordingly.

She flies lower. She scoops the nearest batch of monsters up in giant green fish tanks, flies them to the Bureau in pretty close to no time flat, and then remembers that she has a nephew. She drops the first batch of monsters off and flies back.

Alllllso my nephew is a snake now.

...himself transformed into a snake or straight-up just a snake?

She sends him what she's looking at, which is a totally-just-a-snake with some weird scale patterns in a small green tank.

Scales match his costume. I - could fly him to you and see if you can hear anything?

Mmhmm. We'll get it reversed.

Thank you.

She gets a location and flies her totally normal snake to Alex. It's mostly thinking totally normal snake thoughts.

"No one's home."

"...maybe it's a random snake? - although the monster kids are definitely acting like monsters."

"Yeah." His expression flickers. "Uh, there's a three-foot Darth Vader wreaking havoc on sixth and Garden -"

"On it."

And she flies. She's not super sure how to solve three-foot Darth Vader, actually, but green lanterns fly fast and dropping him off at the Bureau before he can react is simple enough. She focuses on scooping up things that are clearly wreaking havoc.

- just passed a normal kid in a frog costume. Distinct lack of being an actual frog. Looks like not everyone's transformed?

- huh. Certain radius?

Possibly? Transformed kids are pretty spread out, though.

Hey, he tells Wishbone and Giles. Sunnydale children have been transformed into monsters, Slayer's on duty handing them off to the government, feel free to research the 'turn towns of children into their halloween costumes' stuff.

- ah. All children?

Nah but mostly kids dress up on Halloween. - I guess the college campuses are probably also a nightmare.

He starts pulling books about transformation spells and reality-altering effects out of his personal collection.

I'll - think at you when I have something.

Uh huh.

Back to scanning for trouble.

There are a lot of very confused citizens running for cover, plus a lot of amnesiac princesses and goblins and pirates and vampires. The obvious troublemakers are being scooped up by green fish tank constructs at a pretty impressive rate. That over there is Mercy, holding a broadsword and challenging some kid who went as a dragon to single combat.

He flashes this to Karen.

What even is a green lantern? he asks Macalaure since Karen is very busy.

Well, can you look it up?

Sure.

Superheroes, fight evil with rings that give them powers, part of a galactic organization - I assume this spell did not summon the whole thing into being -

Let's not assume any things.

Fair enough. Uh, powered by willpower, abilities include telekinetic control of conjured green objects, fast travel - they patrol the universe...translation? access to the knowledge of the Green Lantern Corps? A bunch of these comic book characters have green lantern oaths listed but I assume Karen's not stupid enough to - even jokingly -

He alerts Karen to a band of marauding pirates trying to break into a sorority house and to Jack Skellington doing something ill-advised-looking with the electrical lines. Didn't swear any lantern-related oaths, right -

She flies and moves people.

Any - ohh, the oath of the Green Lantern Corps? You say it to recharge your ring. Ring doesn't seem about to crap out on me, although if I keep using it like this I assume it will at some point. Not soon, these things are meant to go toe to toe with supervillains. Uh, I think it's harmless but I don't know my comics lore well enough to be more than ninety percent on that. It doesn't include the words 'promise' or 'swear', and I continue to be a human, if that makes you feel any better, but I will avoid saying it while we have like zero idea what's going on.
