Pen' was just going to go practice singing. (She likes singing. The words are all lined up for her already and she doesn't get them wrong.) But this doesn't look like the practice room. So it's probably the magic restaurant.
Pen knows about the magic restaurant! You can go in it, and get food or things to drink (she has bracelets!) and then you just go back out the door and it's been no time at all and you're right where you went in.
She goes in. She is going to have cake.

"Well that's annoying. Is there a way that I could look for them?"
"My wife would worry if I were here for too long," he points out. He's learned to call her his 'wife' and not his mate when he's among humans - for strange cultural reasons he doesn't understand. He doesn't pretend to understand humans, he just thinks they're interesting.
"Ah, well. So is this a common place to show up, for you? I've never seen it before, and I'm quite a bit older than you."
"That's alright. Do you know if I'll see one of your Mommies or Daddies? I'm quite curious about this place."

Some of those words didn't make sense, but that's alright. Obviously he's got quite a bit more to learn about this place.

Because he wants to go, so badly. New places to explore that he hasn't seen before - oh, he could just fly and see new things and never have to land and put on this little charade.

"Lot of places. And Mommies not liking very much if going places and being trouble. Trouble supposing to stay home."
"I'm not sure what kind of trouble I could even cause. I mean, just look at me," he says, motioning to himself. He looks very innocuous, indeed. "I just want to see things."

"How would they do that? I'm not even sure how I'd get to being troubling."
It should be obvious that this is another lie. He could probably be 'troubling' by stealing the opal in her arm, now that he thinks of it. He'll avoid it, if it means he can go explore. Once he's done, though... He does like shiny things.
