About 55% of Amentans successfully season in Montana. The ones who don't go home and are replaced by other applicants for the positions, and then some, as they've now got proof of concept on settlement viability. They'd like to start their experiment in Saskatchewan to see how the numbers are there if that's all right with Canada, and begin breaking ground for a more permanent Montana settlement. Investors in colonial industry want to know what exports various North Americans would like to receive from Montana-dwelling Amentans such that they should set up - exotic Amentan art? Clothes and shoes and stuff since they're conveniently compatible in the apparel department? Agricultural surplus? The Amentans are a little lower tech, but they're excited to catch up and participate in the economy.

North Americans are interested in exotic Amentan art (as long as it passes various rules about which art is and is not illegal) and agriculture. Corporations that benefit from their workers being very obsessed with cleanliness-- ones that make medicine and medical devices, chemicals, computer chips-- begin to make noises about moving factories to Montana. 

Which art is and is not illegal? The Gileadites presumably want... not porn, but are there other restrictions? Amentan art is sometimes about aliens but it's never about humans specifically (or at least nothing that wasn't produced in the last couple months is) so hopefully they don't have to do that thing where you make a character lowkey Jewish to be able to sell it in both Gilead and Ca(sc/n)ad(i)a, or they can outsource the editing since they're not familiar with the standards.

Amentans would love to refine chemicals and make computer chips and manufacture medicine. It is not hard to find an Amentan who finds it a job perk that they can scrub up to ludicrous standards on the clock twice a day.
