So there are adjacent worlds with Bells - Hex and Stork - but no adjacent Ardas, and every Arda so far has gotten exactly one extradimensional visitor before or during its war.

And Bella's and Cam's worlds, which are something like eight hops apart, are functionally identical as of the point where they were born except for the nature of the supernatural, which had been different for thousands of years but didn't change the course of history? That - suggests there's something like fate at work in the human worlds, too...

Yeah, it's weird. And they're out of Edda range so even if the Aether were talkative one day it couldn't tell Loki whether they had fate to make not-real.

Since you've gotten the tour of the worlds at this point, where should we go once we have the time?

Depends on what you want to do. Do you want to look at high-tech architecture built by Elf sensibilities? Do you want to meet disturbing pretty people who are all controlling a desire to drink your blood? Do you want to see Cam being really self-congratulatory?

Does Cam being self-congratulatory look like you being self-congratulatory because that sounds appealing. And what's he being self-congratulatory about?

He's very proud of the Limbo infrastructure and there are probably nuances because he's still perpetually 15% guilt complex and didn't figure out how to get to Limbo on his own, but I imagine it is otherwise similar.

Is the perpetual guilt complex fixable because I think he deserves better, considering. And I'd love to go to Limbo, that sounds neat, and also would let me make up my mind about whether we should become daeva if it works.

Theoretically fixable but I think for it not to take a long damn time it'd have to involve somebody he killed being like 'yup that made sense good job' and he's not going to go around fishing for that.

And all of us would have reacted like that - my family, I mean - but we weren't on-planet at the time - hmm, if space Arda has the same people I bet I know some -

It doesn't. I assume it wouldn't help for my alts to talk to him?

I mean, you might be able to get somewhere on him feeling vaguely awkward around your templates, but probably not with the guilt complex, no.

Might still be worth it, it's weird for him to feel vaguely awkward around me.

One of my space alts caught me up on the whole mess and, well, the Enemy had another fifty Years to fuck with people in Tirion and he got a lot better at it - and they had a population of millions, he just had a lot more raw material.

Yeah, Cam's first impression of Space You was 'exes with a shitload of drama, do not touch' and it just kind of didn't improve from there beyond working-relationship levels.

And so when it came to an important disagreement there wasn't enough mutual trust to actually talk it out, yeah. If you and Maitimo'd decided to feed a planet to a black hole I would disagree, for the same reasons my alt did, but we respect each other and you would not find yourself needing to threaten to kill me.

Yeah, he feels bad about that but doesn't think the Space Findekános would actually appreciate an apology, you can let him know if you think they would.

Hmm? No, they don't hold it against him, he was under a lot of stress and that was rather the least of it. They do all think he made a bet with bad expected value and got lucky with it, though I do not think they've said that, it wouldn't help him and it's not as if there's any point in making him think about it more.

Yeah, I don't think that would help at all.

Thus why it is going unsaid.

I'd still love you but I loved you to start with; they'd forgive him just on principle, and even if the bet hadn't worked out, but there's not really much point in talking about it because there's no relationship there which they want to mend.

Nod. It's a pity the way it sort of spills over to the alts though.

Yeah. Which is why I'd be happy to say something if there's anything you think it'd be helpful to say.

He will be perfectly nice to you pretty much on my behalf, and would probably get to like you if you happened to have a reason to be around him much, but I can't think of magic words for it.

Fair enough. The vampire planet doesn't sound super appealing, is there much we're missing there?

Not super touristy, and where it is so's Revelation and moreso.

Found anything intellectually interesting and not useful?

Evil Arda Melian made Elspeth a bush that grows animal-blood berries and they're trying to scale up production. Cam can do blood, but the vampires can barely stomach it fresh, let alone preserved, and the bushes are magic. I didn't meet Elspeth because they think her magic would probably do more harm than good to my epistemology.
