She takes a deep breath - what's this going to cost her, and can she find it in herself to care right now - and nods, still clinging to Esca.

"Alright. 'Ll give you a few minutes to get yourself ready? Gonna get May to give us a portal, like how we got you here?"

Nod. Cling.

Drex nods to her, and leaves, taking the tray with him.

Esca snuggles closer again, and snuffles at her hair.

She stays clinging to him. Cries, a little, again. She's supposed to be getting ready to go, but - she doesn't actually know how to do that - so she'll just stay here.

Five minutes later there's a knock on her door again. "Hey?" Drex calls softly.

She jerks a little, but uncurls and sits up, leaning on one arm for balance. "Mmm."

Drex pauses. "Would you like a hand up?"

She nods.

He moves closer, and offers her his hand. (Even if she's nodded, he's not taking it as read that he has permission to touch her.)

She doesn't hesitate before taking it. (It's not at all clear, and hasn't been, whether she understands that she has a choice in the matter.)

Esca jumps down off the bed, and continues to stay close to her.

"Walker again?"

Nod.

Well, it's still fairly close to hand, he helps her sit down on it.

A portal, the same white as before, is opening in the dooryway, into a room that is best described as 'cosy'. There's a single bed tucked against one wall, an overfilled bookshelf in one corner, with a chair beside it.

"Okay?" Drex rumbles as he pushes her towards it.

She glances around the room, eyes not lingering on any one thing. She tenses up a little once she's taken it in, hesitating, but nods.

"I'm gonna let Aaren and 'Chelle know you're here. Do you feel up for meeting 'Chelle now?"

Esca sits down beside Denice.

She pauses first to think about it, but nods again, more confidently this time.

He nods, and pads out the door.

Esca rests his head back in her lap.

She pets him, and... yup, crying again, just a little.

He nuzzles her hand.
