Mal's sitting on the grassy hill near Brooks Hall, right across from the Corner, textbook propped open on her knees. She had been talking with Tess, who's currently sprawled out, either sleeping or cloud-watching. Mal's switching between idly reading and watching a boy playing with his dog. It's a nice fall day, and there's a good number of people out and about, some going to and from classes or the shops along the Corner, some relaxing along the park benches, one person slowly feeding fries to a rather bold squirrel.
Crap what was that thing online -
"Check his airway, then his breathing, then his circulation - if any're off call 911, that could be really bad - "
He rolls Liam over, then pulls out a cellphone and starts dialing. "He's, uh, definitely not breathing," he explains in a whisper, as the call goes through. Injured girl sways a little and grips Mal's arm.
"Who here knows CPR?" Mal calls. "If you don't, clear out, the paramedics will need access - "
She is taking a CPR class next chance she gets.
Everyone shuffles away, except clip-on tie guy who is covering one ear and answering questions on the phone.
"You, go to Venable 310A, the girl there's in the nursing program, she knows CPR, can get here before the ambulance," to another likely bystander.
"Sorry about this," she says quietly to injured girl. "I'll get you to your car now, that needs to be looked at - "
Bystander the second jogs off in approximately the right direction.
She lightly takes her friend's hand. "Yeah. Thanks."
Clip on dude seems competent to handle further emergencies maybe, so she'll help injured girl to her car, then dart back to the quad to see if anyone else has suffered a medical emergency.
Injured girl's friend seems capable of driving her to the hospital.
No further emergencies seem to be ongoing. Everyone but clip-on guy and Liam has dispersed.
The RA is approaching, along with the student who went to get her. No sign of the nursing student yet.
She's not useful here, so she'll go find someone who knows CPR. The nursing student, if she's in. Someone else, if not (she starts texting people).
