Blaze looks down. "I don't-"

"If I had to guess, I would say down there is where the poor people live. The dwarven Alienage."

Blaze's eyes go distant.

Zevran looks at her worriedly, and goes to turn her away, when-

A shout.

"NO! No, let go!" A woman's voice.

Eddie barks, haunches raised.

Blaze startles, concern obvious on her face.

Zevran squeezes Blaze's hand, and lets go, so he can unsheathe two daggers and launch himself down the stairs.

At the bottom, a dwarven woman is curled around a baby, one hand desperately hanging onto a small, worn bag, being tugged out of her hands by three well-but-shabbily armed men.

One gets a dagger to the knee before they even see Zevran coming.

Blaze follows after Zevran, and her anger is palatable, drawing a dagger herself, and flames spiralling around her.

All the training they've done together have made Blaze and Zevran a good team.

Zevran pulls Blaze's dagger from the man she skewered, tossing it back to her, as he finishes him off.

There's just the one left standing.

Blaze advances on him, her anger still surging around her.

The dwarf lets the bag go, eyes terrified as he watches Blaze advance.

Zevran grins savagely, egging Blaze on.

Blaze spins one of her daggers around her wrist. "Do I need to prevent you from trying something like this again?" she asks, voice dangerous.

The dwarf whimpers.

"She asked you a question," Zevran growls into the dwarf's ear.

"You elves are all fucking crazy!"

"You're not wrong," Blaze agrees, voice vicious.

The dwarf backs away, and when he isn't stopped, bolts deeper into the run down streets.

Zevran sneers at the retreating back, then gives Blaze a very approving look.

Blaze watches him go, and then turns to the woman. "Are you alright?"

Zevran hands the woman the bag back.

The dwarven woman sits up, taking the bag back and tucking it close to her body, cradling the baby in her other arm. "Thank you. I was just coming back from the market."

"You don't have the 'S' on your face," Zevran notes. "Not like those other dwarves."

The woman laughs, bitterly. "I've not been a Duster long."

Blaze listens, but can't think of anything to say at that.
