Lacey and Serg are YA protagonists

Tila has been called to the temple. She is not terribly thrilled about this; the gods know her full name, and she didn't give it to them on purpose, so she prefers to interact with them as little as possible so she can pretend there aren't people out there who know her name without her consent. It's even more annoying because they gave her advance warning without specifying why, so she has to think about it more without it actually doing anything useful like letting her prepare.

As she walks up the temple steps, she schools her expression from one of irritation to one of neutrality. It's not anyone's fault, no one else is like her about their name, and at least the priests know to call her by the short form in front of people (she was very insistent about this when she was small) so there's no one inside who deserves to bear the brunt of her temper. She has less than no desire to make this an unpleasant experience for anyone else.

Tila has been called to the temple. Ahead of time, presumably so she could clear her schedule; certainly not so she could prepare, since they gave her no reason why. She wishes they had; there's no reason not to, as far as she can tell, and the curiosity bugs her until the day and time arrives.
