Thekla couldn’t sleep.
It wasn’t the rumbling of the engine or the various sleeping noises of her fellow passengers. It was just a feeling. An uneasy feeling, like something was wrong. She couldn’t even tell what it is that was wrong, it was just...something. She rolled over, clenching he reyes she and burrowing further into her bedroll. She’d slept on many an uncomfortable floor that she was used to it, but this time even the raised platform she’d chosen to sleep on was preventing her from slipping away into dreams.
She rolled onto her back, huffing. She tried slowing her breathing. She undid the ties around her lekku, just enough that they were loose. She pulled out her data pad and tried to read.
Nothing worked.
Eventually she rolled over onto her side and reached down, poking her companion’s cheek. “Kyn? You awake?”
