The next day, as with every day, students must attend homeroom.
"We should. I like this idea. You have any spots in particular in mind, or should we just wander."
"Lets."
She grabs her clothes and quickly heads to the bathroom, ten minutes later she is all ready to go.
"How good are you at riding a bike?"
She leads them to the garage, which is full of old vintage cars and then heads to one side. Three bikes are against the wall, she pulls one out and pushes it to him.
"They're a couple of years old, but should work perfectly fine. Stefan likes to tinker with them occasionally."
"Maybe he and I should do some tinkering together, as classic manly bonding exercise. That's what you do with your girlfriend's supernatural uncle, right?"
"Super manly. I think he'd like that. It'll make sure he doesn't get too dark and broody. He slips into that if he isn't otherwise occupied. It's a known problem."
"You should introduce us sometime."
Matt manages to get onto the bike, and takes the lead.
Biking doesn't suit itself to conversation, but eventually they make it into the center of town.
There are various eateries to eat at, and there are various shops to shop it.
They park their bikes in the helpfully supplied bike rack.
So Juliet takes his hand and chooses the closest restaurant.
"I never got to come into town proper before. Too many people. Made dad nervous."
"Glad to be of service."
It's a fairly small Mexican place. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable, but it's a little cramped.
-by which point, Isaac has spotted them.
He continues eating, quietly.
He's sitting alone.
"He is your friend and he looks lonely... but I also want you to feel safe. You're my priority here."
"His dad isn't here. I don't think I could do it without you."
This isn't an answer, but it might be a hint.
