Today, Beacon Hills High School prepares to welcome a new student! Several new students, in fact; a whole class of them. As summer gives way to fall, so too does freedom give way to restriction. Get in your seats, everyone.

Juliet is also confused. She stands, keeping a hold of Matts hand and pulling him along with her to the car.

"Seconded. I thought you were our ride."

"That was the plan. Mr. Finstock offered."

"...Coach is driving us home."

"Yeah. We'll wait here until he does."

"I guess that works."

She laughs, "I thought teachers didn't exist outside of school grounds. Or are gym teachers and coaches exempt from this universal rule?"

"Finstock is exempt from most rules. He's an odd guy."

"Hey, Daehler, get in here," says the just arriving gym teacher.

???

Juliet goes with Matt.

"So Byrne tells me you're thinking of joining up?"

He starts the car.

"I was, yeah. You guys talked a lot?"

"You know how he is. Or do you? I can't keep track of your complicated web of popularity nonsense, things were simpler when I went to high school. You were cool or you weren't, and I wasn't. Easy."

Juliet fidgets. Not appreciating being ignored.

"I guess so, yeah."

"You, what's your name? Are you thinking about trying out?"

"Juliet Salvatore. Trying out for the lacrosse team? I didn't even know I could."

"Maybe you can't, I don't know. If you're any good, I'll check."

"I'm good. But unfortunately unable to play. I have a mood disorder. Sometimes I get too excited and I can hurt myself, or others. It's a thing."

"Whatever you say. So what's up with the two of you?"

"We just wanted to hang out outside of school. That's what cool kids do in our day, Coach Finstock."

"We were taking pictures of the Preserve, very fun and wholesome stuff."

"I'm not your parents. You could have been painting the trees with each other's blood for all I care, as long as you were safe."

"Sure. So when are tryouts, anyway, I haven't seen any flyers."

"Whenever I decide to have them."

"Oh! I was hoping to take some pictures of tryouts, maybe a video? I mean, I was thinking about actual games, but that's still a ways off, right?"
