"Yes, but by gathering it are they depleting the ambient magic? Is there always more mana to have around?"

"It's not like mana disappears. It just moves from high concentrations to low concentrations and back again. The furnaces and cores gather it... Somehow."

"Huh, and mana can be used for healing?"

"Yes! Well, not directly. Most food is good for healing because of natural concentrations of mana. We can tell how good a potion or meal is with the equipment here."

"Cool, we can convert between lifeforce aspects so healing potions would be useful as a way to fuel our magic on top of the usual benefit."

"Snappy. Healing potions will get pricey quickly if you use them a lot, though. Wanna tell me about some basic rituals and then see if I can do one myself?"

"Sure. Do you mind if I metaphorically-and-safely poke things around in your lab to figure out interactions between the two kinds of magic?"

"Be especially careful of my precious Guidance Stone! Getting that thing working at all was a small miracle."

"I will. The magic is non-interfering."

"Snappy! We're both learning!"

Symin returns with two vials containing vivid, bright green fluid.

"What are these supposed to do?" He asks while preparing the ritual.

"Ah, they're stamina elixirs. They increase your stamina. Especially if it's already low."

"Cool, do you mind if one you drinks it while I'm watching? See if there is any difference between the effect on you and the effect on us."

"Certainly! Experimentation, ho! We don't have much of a materials budget though. Or, uh, any materials budget at all."

"Understandable. Just a sip should be enough. We probably should figure out how-to-money here sooner or later."

"That can wait at least a little bit..."

Experiments ensue. Stamina potions have the same effect on Hylians and the visitors, but you have to drink a certain minimum amount to get any effect at all. It's almost like the stamina comes in chunks.

Purah doesn't see any interesting magic effects going on during a stamina-using ritual.

"Do you have any idea if potions work for animals?"

Symin answers. "They do, mostly, but almost all animals hate them. And it's a bit of a waste, honestly."

"I'm just trying to map it into our system. We can transfer lifeforce to and from non-humans but it doesn't always work properly."

"Fascinating stuff."

They can have intellectual conversation about magic for quite a while if nothing interrupts.

Temple is sure interested in that! He might lose the track of time.

Symin gets out snacks. The Hateno researchers learn a few basic rituals. The Greywards learn how to do a basic magic scan in the local style and how to make elixirs a little better.

Exciting!

They are thankful for the snacks!

Purah is much smarter and more mature than a ten-year-old. Do they never ask about that?
