Is there something in particular I should be looking for?

We don't know why they did it. I'm sorry. I do think you'd find it by looking but I don't know for what exactly and it's probably not intent.

And finds torture. A lot of very elaborate torture. Much of it aimed at forcing oaths, which she did not give. There are forced hallucinations in which she's back at home with her family and then their faces melt into those of orcs.

There are some hallucinations in the dark. Still doing other things to suggest 'orc', though. 

Is there anything - placed - such that the Enemy could remotely interfere with her perceptions -

Osanwe from a Maia or Vala can sometimes do that, but very clumsily. 

To Lúthien: It is loosely possible that someone could osanwë her false perceptions leading her to believe that someone nearby was an orc.

But she'd know that wasn't likely, since there aren't orcs in Menegroth! Right?

No. She wouldn't. She doesn't have a way to be sure this is real.

Can we just say to her - even if it's not real, it's not worth the chance, if you're in Angband anyway it's not like it does any good to kill orcs...

You could try it. I am not sure at this point that her reasons to want to kill orcs have to do with whether it will accomplish anything.

Do you think there's a way to make it safe?

I could make her safe the same way I could make an orc safe but she doesn't want anyone else messing with her head. I haven't asked what she'll do if she has to pick between being driven out alone and risking recapture to being tampered with. She doesn't want to go to Mandos either.

Mandos isn't so bad.

And you can't just - not kill the orcs, even if it happens?

Kiri, can you make it so she doesn't kill Elves even if she thinks they're orcs in Angband, but she can still fight back against actual orcs?

I don't think so. Not if they look the same to her.

I - I don't think we can let you stay unless Kiri makes it so you don't kill anyone if they melt into an orc. Even if they attack you. Because people will know what happened to you and if you panic at them they might try to hold you down -

What does it feel like how will I know that's all she's doing -

It doesn't feel like anything. I can bounce you what I'm doing with osanwë but it's all synaesthetic and might not make sense.
